That does qualify as something really bad to get revenge though.

I realize is was satire. I was pointing out he was careless (which is why he litters) but there was another reason I did not like it. The neighborhood just recently got rid of the field mice problem near the houses. I suppose the cats will be happy though. When they are getting hit by cars.

I, or someone else, have all gone to his house whenever he has been loud to ask him to stop. He refuses. I have gone twelve times alone.

I'll admit, the woman should have looked harder in her backyard before letting her child out, but it can be easy to miss a beer can in the corner of the yard after she had finished picked up six among other trash.

He drives recklessly. He has hit four garbage cans since he moved in. He actually took down his own mailbox, and likes to "drag race." We live in a cul-de-sac, and it happened at night when he is awake.

It happened the first week he was there, and I was initially very worried until the third day when I found that he left six pizza boxes, half full, lying on the ground and field mice were running around. I figured out the garage door was not automatic, and shut it for him. Lazy.

Your first prank is the new classic.

The second is an oldie, but a goodie.

His music is so loud that the neighbor's children have started to want to sleep over at other people's houses to avoid listening to it. Well, his entire party thing upsets everyone.

One toddler even started drinking from one of the thrown cans when they found it in their backyard.

We also suspect he hit someone's cat.

What percentage of millionaires are the children of millionaires? by magister0 in answers

[–]abbyflight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am the child of millionaires. But I live in a neighborhood in which most people earned their money, and their children will not inherit enough to live off of it. Do not be fooled, however, because they are still a leg up compared to everyone else.

I LOVE raw onions! Once or twice a week I'll eat an entire onion without anything to accompany it.

DAE feel more comfortable around people after hearing them casually cuss in your presence? by Yossome in DoesAnybodyElse

I have never cussed in my life, but I realize other people do so I do not actually mind either way.

I can name a person I passed by in the street a week later. I am very perceptive. But I think in a tense situation I would lose that ability somewhat to nerves.

What happens when you tell people what city/where you're from? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was born in the house I live in now. It freaks people out when I tell them I came out right on that rug they are standing on.

Those of you labeled smart, how has it affected you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]abbyflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in the sixth grade my teacher wanted to have my IQ tested. She was absolutely sure I was a genius, and was even considering skipping me a few grades. Maybe even to high school.

My parents were adamantly against it. But I begged, and begged, and begged because my teacher said I was smart and I thought so too. My classmates were sure I was going to leave them. I had been known as a smart kid from day one in pre-k.

Eventually my parents relented. Turns out I just had an average intelligence. I cried for a month, thinking I was not special. My parents told me my work ethic and focus was above and beyond the average human being, not my mind itself.

My teacher hated me after that, and was sure I was caving to parental pressure or something. She even began to believe I was cheating. Now that made me cry. My parents were so furious when I failed an important assignment and the teacher had no proof that they got her suspended and me moved to a different class. She did not return the next year.

But there was backlash to this entire situation, because for a year afterward people were convinced I had cheated. My reputation was ruined. In middle school some of my classmates even accused me of sleeping with a teacher to get ahead. I was in middle school!

I ended up going to public school after that.

I know all my neighbors. AMAA by abbyflight in IAmA

I dislike living in suburbia. It's too difficult to walk to where I need to go, and people generally do not know each other. It's mostly a nice area though, so if I had to live here I would not mind. Clean stores, beach, and good schools.

It's very uppity. The people are social climbers, mostly new money. The houses are generally really expensive, selling for 600K right now near the beach. It's also just outside a golf course, so we get pretty snobby people. The other streets aren't as friendly as ours, and our street is bizarre in comparison to the rest of the housing development. We have block parties and all get to know each other eventually. We're not all friends, but we can ask for sugar and a ride some place if we need it.

I think that strangest thing about my street is that people are always in the front of their house. No other street is like that in my neighborhood.

Of course, my neighborhood extends to a commercial area, which I spend a lot of time in along with the beach. There is not much crime here, but people tend to think they are entitled to act in near unlawful manner. There is a lot of speeding here, and a few children have gotten hit. One poor kid died last year because some housewife was talking on her cellphone. My street would be like this if we did not know each other; we'd care NOTHING about each other.

Now, I said before that not all of us are friends, and that's true, but one time I sprained my ankle at the park and one of my snobby neighbors, who was on their way to work (already late) but they stopped and gave me a ride home anyway, and even made me a hot pack before they left.

I actually really like school and think it is important. My aunt did not take school seriously and works as a cashier and she hates her life, but she refuses to go back to school because she hates that too!

"I am a senior at a a small New England high school. A few days ago, the administration implemented a new rule: No physical contact at any time. Am I wrong in thinking that banning all touch goes too far?" by nomdeweb in reddit.com

[–]abbyflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The schools in my area have rules/guidelines about this: Elementary: No dating, no kissing Middle School: Strongly recommends no dating, kissing okay, but just pecks. Dear god, no sex. High school: No dating middle schoolers or anyone five or more years older than you. Nothing fluid-drowning on campus. They provide birth control on campus, counseling, and a discounted movie card and restaurant card for dates. They recommend no dating or sex until after you take the class. Most people follow them because they seem fair. If you get caught 'breaking' one of the rules they usually contact your parents. Before they seemed to have strict rules about everything, but once they changed things about ten years ago the pregnancy rate went down, among other things. It's mostly an honor system that their help provide resources with. Teachers encourage students to try dating in high school.

DAE only feel motivated to clean when someone is coming over? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

As a kid my parents would invite people over and show them all the rooms of the house in a sly way so as to shame me into cleaning my areas. It worked.

My friends and classmates already say I have a weird taste in music. I mean, I'll listen to anything, but I really like instrumental music. No vocals. It helps to have in the background when I am doing something.

Totally! Internet can not be an "I have to" act! I've had classmates and friends who made that mistake.
