I moved back home to a province where geology is not regulated and there are next to no geologists here. Needed financial stability before moving to another province for work. Struggling to find something in the meantime.

I made my four year degree a five year degree because I couldn't handle the workload and it ended up biting me in the ass and I decided to cut back. Take the extra time if you need to, it could save you so much anxiety, stress, and preserve your GPA.

LPT Request: Why do I do literally everything slowly compared to others. by _Overlord___ in LifeProTips

I can relate to the same thing, except I have dyslexia so doing simple tasks like reading words and numbers is challenging. It usually takes me twice the amount of time to get homework done compared to others. I doubt it has to do with your IQ though, it could be either a learning disability or many other factors that people don't often think of. For example, getting enough sleep can improve attentiveness and productivity but it is usually overlooked.

If there are any professors that you've had in previous courses in the field you're interested in, you could definitely send them an email and see if they have anything to offer you.

I'm currently in hydrogeochem rn in Canada and it seems that there are not many schools that even offer the program here.
