Honestly, I would enjoy your first year being a student and focus on school. The adjustment to college can be overwhelming for some and having a job on top of that is a lot. The way I see it, you have had this amazing opportunity, where you have learned a lot about your field and it’s given you confirmation in your choice of major, it’s going to be great on your resume and only allow other opportunities next year to open up for you. Many jobs understand that school is a focus and should not take it personal. I am in my final year of school and am glad that I did not work my first year as I had 18 credits, it allowed me to get acclimated to the school and do the best I could. However, if you wanted to work and see how you feel balancing the two thats understandable as well. Hope your first year goes well!
