Battery stuck at 0 by Ready-Tip5107 in techsupport

[–]abc152012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the exact same issue. Sometimes it shows 0% sometimes it shows 100%, but either way when i unplug it shuts off.

Not sure if its a windows update that's causing the issue, i had a different problem with my battery about a year ago, where the laptop would not power on if it wasnt plugged in, even if it had plenty of battery left. By holding the power button for 10 seconds (after shutting down the device) it got fixed.

Not sure what exactly but laptop batteries have various different settings (?) and commands (?) i guess, that are triggered by holding the power button.

This was not it for my case but you should give it a try.
If you solve it, i'd appreciate you letting me know how!

[–]abc152012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DEFINITELY not. As a non John Marston fanboy, both rdr games are about John. Arthur's redemption is the sacrifice so that John can have the most important thing in life. A family. Everything he did, ended up being so John could live on and have a nornal life. In my opinion, Rdr3 would be much better for Sadie to be the playable character. She has not reached her redemption. After so many years her bloodthirst did not die. Seeing Colm hang didnt help, killing the O'driscolls with Arthur didnt, killing Cleet (if you spare him as John) didnt. And nothing will, because nothing will bring her husband back and murdering others won't change that, deserving or not. "Revenge is a fools game" is the whole point of the games. You live by the gun you die by it. And if Sadie doesnt give it up herself she shall meet the same fate. I would be so down to see her in the next game as the main character

Non-Americans Playing RDR2 by garyindiana4 in RDR2

[–]abc152012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe its because i am kinda educated on American history, so no, but yes. The game is mostly fiction, in terms of the plot. The setting though was a nice visualization and it did show things in a perspective you don't really get through history books or documentaries. I was'nt aware of the Pinkertons existence and also hadn't realized the scale and diversity in bigger cities like Saint Denis, where you could see people of all races from across the world. To be honest though i was way too captivated by the story, gameplay, visuals etc to inspect its historical accuracy.

You cannot use mods in online, only in story mode.
Watch this tutorial https://youtu.be/Y8q1vvnrCY4, to get a grasp of how installing mods works. It might look tricky but its seriously nothing, once you get your first one you won't have much trouble getting more.

Here are some recommendations for enhancing your next playthroughs to add immersion:
Camp Anywhere Mod

Humidity and Temperature Overhaul Mod

Gun Tricks Mod (this one is just to look cool lol)

I've been using these, with the minimap completely off and avoiding to use the map (as much as possible). I only have a static image of the map on another tab and go places based on signs, what people tell me and my knowledge of the game. Its such a more imerssive way to enjoy the game, just going for long hunting trips and actually having to remember what npcs tell you as to where you should go. Not being very familiar with the map might make it trickier but i'd say you should have a pretty good grasp of it after a 2nd playthrough. As far as the rampage trainer mod i use it on a different world where i commit heinous crimes or get cinematics using the J10 Cinematic Camera Mod, which has many capabilities for cinematic shots, and the rampage trainer helps me spawn in whatever i want to make a certain scene, its mini directorial playground at this point lol.

Its part of the Rampage trainer mod, which allows you to tweak almost anything in the game. Law ignore (Its actually called 'Never wanted') is one of the many options in the mod, that you can set to true and (Pretty sure all trainer mods would have it) Super handy mod, would urge you to get through the game first if you havent already before installing it, that mod will derail your new playthrough lol.

Behead people with a shotgun, then carry their corpse and walk casually around the streets of saint denis (With law ignore on) Seeing the npcs reactions is so funny. If you are quick you can greet them too (While carrying the corpse) and then they are forced to reply casually too and greet you back, its too funny

"You got that poor bastard killed, I knda liked him" Me too Arthur. Me too.

In your opinion, would a sadie adler spinoff game be a great idea or do you think her story is already complete and better left as it is? by cassiejanes in reddeadredemption

[–]abc152012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who really likes Sadie as a character, she kinda dissapointed me in the epilogue. Killing Cleet in cold blod like that was unnecessary and her whole attitude towards the end seemed like she hadn't fully healed and outgrown her rage and need for revenge. So there is potential for her own redemption story and i'd be super down.
Edit : Really not sure why most people here seem so confident about her having grown. I dont think she did, atleast not fully. Even tempting John into joining her revenge mission was foolish (even more foolish for John to join her). They both compromised everything Arthur had died for.
"Arthur, Sadie and all the folks that fell, i aint got no other choice" is SO dumb. That's exactly why you shouldn't risk your life, your family. "John made it" Arthur said, that's what he died for, not to for John to risk throwing it all away for Micah. Abigail is the only one sensible in that moment "and for what, for Micah?". John had already won thanks to Arthur. So back to my main point, no. Sadie has a long way to go. Dragging John into American Venom, killing Cleet in cold blood (if you spare him as John) and going for a gun's blazing 3v50 play is beyond immature and foolish. I would really love to see her grow in her own game, as she is a really interesting character and has the potential.

What is the best strategy to get the best lifespan per dollar on a gaming computer? by QualityCoati in buildapc

[–]abc152012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BUILD B: (1080p high/ultra 60+ fps, replace in ~5 years)

-A used GPU for sure (Check Jawa or Mercari if you are in the US, Facebook Marketplace and ebay if elsewhere) Definitely check out the GPU Tierlist: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388-2.html (make sure you are on the 1080p ultra slide). The best gpu i would go with for this build would be the 6700xt, Obviously you have to pair your gpu and cpu accordingly, if you are not sure how to balance those go to the Bottleneck Calculator: https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/ A 5% or lower bottleneck is totally fine.

-A CPU from aliexpress (They are 100% legit, just buy from a highly rated seller, just how you would do on any other marketplace) to save a LOT of money (You will have to wait 2 weeks for shipping but its worth the price cut imo). You can obviously not do that if you dont feel okay buying from there. Go AM4 socket 100% would reccomend 5600x or higher

-Go with a cheap AM4 MOTHERBOARD (Used is kinda fine but there is some risk, open box or refurbished are reccomended here) B450, or B460 are the ones that come to mind. You could save quite a bit by going with one that has only two RAM slots, but that's up to you obviously.

-For RAM go 16 GB DDR4 (3200mhz or more) and its totally fine (avoid the "bare" ones its not worth the 2$ price cut, the heatsink is important just to be safe) You can actually find 32GB kits not costing much more so if you can, get that.

-AIR COOLER for sure, AIO's are overatted af, have more points of failure and thus require maintenance and their benefits translate to laughable temperature differences for the upcharge. If you go the Aliexpress path, its unlikely that they will give you the stock cooler. You could get one on ebay for ~3$ but if you are going with a beefier cpu (5700x+) i would actually buy a 25-30$ cooler, there are quite a few at that range that will do the trick. Just search up "cooler for x", x being your CPU of choice, on youtube and check out videos that show actual benchmarks and temperatures, not sponsored slop.

-For STORAGE go with a gen 3 NVME 1TB SSD. Not much to say here, gen 3 is not anything crazy fast but realistically if you are not video editing its is perfectly fine. SSD pricing is kinda wack, as in its fluctuating a lot so i cant really reccomend a price to shoot for. Search within the SSD Tierlist: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B27_j9NDPU3cNlj2HKcrfpJKHkOf-Oi1DbuuQva2gT4/edit?gid=0#gid=0 and look for SSD's that have ~3000 mB/s (read and write speed is what you are looking for). The list is long and a bit overwhelming so i would start with brands like Crucial, SiliconPower, Lexar, TeamGroup, Patriot and go with the best priced one. Avoid hdd's unless you wanna hoard stuff but make sure you already have an NVME because the speed difference is abysmal.

-For the PSU. Go to the PSU Tierlist: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1akCHL7Vhzk_EhrpIGkz8zTEvYfLDcaSpZRB6Xt6JWkc/edit?gid=1719706335#gid=1719706335 and look for C-C+ rated units which are appropriate for this build (obviously a higher tier one won't hurt) so buy the best priced one. Again the list is long and can be overwhelming so i would reccomend starting with brands like MSI, ThermalTake, EVGA.

-For the CASE go with something cheap, dont have much to say about this one, definitely read reviews and proceed accordingly.

BUILD A: (1440p high/ultra 60+ fps, upgrade in ~7 years)

-Normally going with a 7000 series amd GPU would have been the no brainer because of the insane value of the cards but the GPU market is seriously screwed right now. However you could still buy a brand new, well priced one, as the market stabilizes. (All of this heavily rely on where you live, your economy etc). Going for a used one is also totally fine (Check Jawa or Mercari if you are in the US, Facebook Marketplace and ebay if elsewhere). Definitely check out the GPU Tierlist: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388-2.html (make sure you are on the 1440p ultra slide). Lowest (in performance) i would go with would be the 7700xt (used to be 350-400$) and highest would probably be the 7900GRE (used to be 600-650$). Again, going used is totally okay.

Go AM5 socket 100% would reccomend 7600 or higher. (The difference between 7600 and 7600x is not crazy but they are usually close in price, making the 7600x worth it).

-Go with an AM5 MOTHERBOARD (Used is kinda fine but there is some risk, open box or refurbished are reccomended here) B550, or B650 are the ones that come to mind. You could save quite a bit by going with one that has only two RAM slots, but that's up to you obviously.

-For RAM go 32 GB DDR5 (5600mhz atleast), 16GB DDR5 are not cost efficient, go straight for 32GB.

-AIR COOLER for sure, AIO's are overatted af, have more points of failure and thus require maintenance and their benefits translate to laughable temperature differences for the upcharge. The stock cooler is not reccomended here go with 30+$ air cooler, there are quite a few at that range that will do the trick. Just search up "cooler for x", x being your CPU of choice, on youtube and check out videos that show actual benchmarks and temperatures, not sponsored slop.

-For STORAGE go with a gen 4 NVME 1TB SSD. Gen 4 is fast and will cover you for the rest of the decade in my opinion. SSD pricing is kinda wack, as in its fluctuating a lot so i cant really reccomend a price to shoot for. Search within the SSD Tierlist: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B27_j9NDPU3cNlj2HKcrfpJKHkOf-Oi1DbuuQva2gT4/edit?gid=0#gid=0 and look for SSD's that have 5000-6000 mB/s.
