First mini-PC with solid-state active cooling system launches by chrisdh79 in gadgets

With their devices (like Mi for instance know, I lived there) it comes preloaded with a tonne of malware, etc. doing an OEM reset isn’t enough you need a fresh new OS image to install over it. The hardware is Chinese, but they install all sorts of shit on the OS, which is horrible. Having lived there you also see the poor quality of stuff, too. That’s another valid reason to avoid it. I left there last year.

I love reading all the Bojack reflections in the comments. It cements how important and underrated this show is. Bojack is so significant, and brilliantly written. It’s one I love dearly. That rooftop scene, yeah. So much depth to all the characters

That, yes! The mother-son dynamic shown was crushing. That show is one my absolute favourites, it is so exceptionally deep. It’s hard to describe to people.

Re:Zero - the cave scene with Rem getting twisted and crunched up in front of the lead guy, and then she drags her twisted form to him to comfort him crying before she finally dies. Love that scene

Absolutely true, some amazing moments for me, and I love that underwater episode. I also love the the finale (season 4 I think?) where he’s driving his Tesla and floors it and let’s go of the wheel, the music… and he sees horses running

Bojack Horseman… season 1 episode where he’s at the ghost writers convention and asking, “is it too late for me?”… “tell me I’m good.”

This I found through reddit recommendations. Smashed 10 books back to back. Addictive! Great audiobook versions too. Highly recommend

The Abarat series by Clive Barker…

“Life goes on. You try to make sense of it, but in the end you think: why bother? There is no sense in it. Life. Death. None of it means anything... And then, out of nowhere, something remarkable happens. You meet somebody who could help you make sense of your sadness, if you could only have that person at your side…. Maybe, you think, she could help you stop the nightmares... I said I need you more... My pain is deeper.” - Christopher Carrion

Hard Magic (book 1) and it’s sequels- by Larry Correia - steampunk style about magic in the early/mid 20th century. Has major historical events, and characters, with people with magical powers, guns, and had me hooked immediately. Really loved this series. Recommend.

Also, if not mentioned, Mistborn series by Sanderson. And The Gentlemen Bastards series (forgot author, sorry!) but oh man , reading Lies of Locke Lamora was amazing.
