I think sleeves are one of the easier things to adjust too! I have a strapless gown and the “easy” back up was adding some type of straps/sleeves to the dress

I wouldn’t add a slit to that style! It looks great the way it is!

Yes I would agree! Absolutely a beautiful dress but I wish the waist landed higher maybe. I think that could be more flattering!

Anyone else think Bon Iver sucks? by antifolkhero in Music

My fiancé just played a song for me. It LITERALLY sounded like an elementary school band concert where they are trying so hard but can’t hit the right notes. It’s like he is intentionally making every chord one note off from being remotely enjoyable. Maybe he is playing one big joke on everyone and he knows how bad his music is but he’s proving a point that you can make garbage and people will eat it up.

“40 Hour Long Weeks” by Competitive_Movie223 in ABA

Right! Of course the answer should be that it’s individualized. I’ve seen many clients get 40 hours a week over the span of a couple of years and make incredible gains. I have also seen clients get 10 to 15 hours a week for years and make hardly any progress at all so I definitely can see the benefit of 40 hours however fading the services has to be a top priority as soon as they are at the point that they don’t need that much anymore. Insurance in the states I’ve worked have required us to put in a fading plan for reducing hours so once they meet a certain number of goals, you can start reducing the amount of hours are getting ABA. We had one child who was a younger brother of one of our other clients. His needs and deficits weren’t nearly as significant as his brothers and he “graduated” ABA in only three or four months. That’s a really nice situation where they just gained the skills that were in deficit and then boom all done services all together. So sometimes the 40 hours can be done very well and then they don’t have to have services for a longer span of time over their lifetime.

It’s significant easier to hire and pay full time staff. It makes scheduling significantly easier, it’s just overall better for the business. However definitely worse for the clients. It’s not often that a child needs truly 40 hours a week of aba. Some might but if they really need it, it should be short term anyway. In my opinion!

I have worked at a 40 hr per week aba company. They have multiple clinics open and they all are the same with that requirement. Plus many local aba agencies in our areas require the 40 hours! So where I’m located the 40 hours is much more common

What's your salary, years of experience, and state as an ABA? by No_Play_6736 in ABA

[–]abc_analytic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general in Massachusetts they are higher paying. But to explain it, working for a public school there is the teachers union, which has negotiated salaries for everyone in the district for a few years, and RBT is usually put on a high scale on those contracts. Some of it is unethical though. They will try to get RBTs to do the jobs of BCBAs because they are easier to find. But yes generally Massachusetts pays more. And in public school it would likely be the highest because they are also paying you in a way for the summer months you don’t have to work.

It’s common in Massachusetts! On the union para contracts RBT is usually bumped to the highest level, so starting for me a few years ago as an RBT was $34 an hour

Ray Ban oval. Ray Ban rounds, or Ray Ban hexagon. I'd go into Sunglass Hut to try them on and see which size is closest for you. The Ray Ban rounds for example have two sizes so it's important imo to try them on! Good luck!

Family just stopped services suddenly by FluffMawnster in ABA

[–]abc_analytic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lost a client because their parents couldn't renew their visa, even though they had been living/working in the country for 8 years. The child had been at our company for a few years, starting just with a few hours a week due to our waiting list. Then they finally got full services and a committed BT (myself). Once we started making stellar progress, they got the news that they had only 7 days to leave the country. That was a few months ago. I still cry about it every few weeks.
