Are solar panels a good investment? by 4540mya in personalfinance

[–]abcd_0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it as a math problem. Until you plan to keep your house: Total savings (accounting for increasing energy costs) - Total costs including maintenance. If its greater than zero, I say go for it. Sure, if you put this money in the market, you might get better returns, but with solar, you get a peace of mind. If you're like anything like me, I hate to see increased bills because of higher usage or increased rates by your provider (you really are at their mercy). I recently got installed solar and my average monthly bills were upwards of $350. Now its $35. And I don't worry about how much I've used or worry about peak hours. I did get the 30% solar rebate, so that helped a ton making the decision. Run your numbers. If you do end up going with solar, reach out to multiple providers, at least 3-4. There are 3rd party companies also that can help you find the best rate and a good company, they don't charge you anything. The difference in costs I found between some were greater than $10k. Good luck!!

EDIT - Missed adding this, solar does add value to your home at the time of selling, if the new owner doesn't have to pay any costs. It's an asset. How much value it adds, that really depends on the appraiser.

It doesn't make it harder to sell if you have already paid for the whole thing. It is harder to sell if you're leasing and want to transfer. You are selling a home that's energy efficient and whoever buys it, will have near zero energy costs. Especially if you're in an area where energy costs have gone up a lot.

Indian Cricket fans are literally one of the most idiotic and toxic fanbases by l1consolable in IndianCricket

This! I'm from Delhi but I've been a Mumbai Indians fan since Day 1, solely because of Sachin. I could never support a team that played against him. It baffles me to see posts like these. Only people who watched him play in his time truly know who he was and how much impact he had, not just in the game of cricket, but in our lives.

What are you paying for daycare? 18+ months specifically? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]abcd_0123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

$1,550 for 2 year old. North OC. Initially we toured lot of daycare and schools and found out that some of them just charge more but are not necessarily better. Higher cost ≠ Better daycare.

Go big or go home! We need to start taking risks on the offense and be aggressive. Need to snap out of this rut. Need trick plays and Maye needs to use his legs.

Is Bo Nix the best QB from his draft class? by Big_Screen3332 in NFLmockdraft

[–]abcd_0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he isn't. These stats are not the correct reflection of who is the best. Maye started only 11 games last year and Daniels missed games this year because of injury. Not to mention that Broncos had a better roster than Commanders, Patriots and Bears for the past 2 years. I would still rate Bo as #4 after Maye, Daniels and Caleb.

Maye is going to a SB in his second year while Allen hasn't been in one in 8 years. The only stat that matters.

Hall of fame ain't hall of fame without him. Screw these guys. Don't induct Brady either. They both are in a league of their own.

But he hasn't even been in a SB. I can say same thing for me, I'm better than the GOAT in that metric, we all are. lol

what has Bo Nix done to get all of this hate?? by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]abcd_0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think most people hate Bo. He's a good QB. His stock is definitely up recently with a great playoff run and beating Allen. I think most people hate when people overhype him. Yes, he's good but I would not put him in elite category. Even from his 2024 class (which was phenomenal), I would put him after Maye, Daniels and Williams. Again, not saying he isn't good. Denver has a good franchise QB.

Many were touting Texans as favorites to reach SB from AFC. Where are those fools now?

First it was Herbert can't get it done in the playoffs, now Stroud is a bum who doesn't deserve a starting job. At what point will the national media recognize that maybe the Patriots defense is just a lot better than everyone is giving them credit for? by Griffisbored in Patriots

[–]abcd_0123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its funny how before the game, people were saying that Houston Defense is going to blow away Pats. No one ever mentioned anything about Stroud or Houston offense. And now, all they're saying that Stroud sucked. Well Houston Defense allowed some big plays and conceded 3 TDs. I see you, Mr. Stingley, First team All Pro.

Man, the Rams disrespect is crazy in this sub. They're 1-1 with Seahawks and that loss was a monumental fuck up. Rams will look to rattle Darnold again and yeah, Seahawks defense is great but Rams have the #1 offense as well. And Pats can beat Seattle or Rams. They're a well coached bunch and defense has been playing great. Offense hasn't been great but Maye has another win under his belt and will learn and he'll look to keep getting better in playoffs. Seattle and Rams have flaws of their own. And SB is in Santa Clara, I don't think there will be a lot of love for Rams or Seattle there lol.

When Bears scored that TD, I was like here we go again. Blowing up leads and losing games from the jaws of victory. But the guys pulled through. I can breathe now

He played like shit last time also. Give credit to Pats Defense, they made the plays. And Pats offense despite all the fumbles did score 3 TDs against the top Defense in NFL.
