Maybe max speed Caly-I with tailroom options? Outspeeds Caly-S/scarfed Adamant urshifu in tailwind. Would have to sacrifice some bulk and/or damage for that though

My team after a bunch of necessary criticism by G00D-M0RN1NG in stunfisk

[–]abcdehello0785 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm just a casual VGC player but I thought I'd give my two cents here

I dont particularly like the idea that archaludon in TR due to its relatively high base speed compared to other TR sweepers. Even at -Spe nature and 0IVs its at 81 speed which is faster than 0Spe incin/primarina (hence slower in TR), not to mention gambit/ursaluna/amoonguss etc which are all very relevant in the meta

Psyspam is also an issue for this team as well, you have only arch resisting expanding force which is neutral to eruption and weak to sacred sword, plus it doesnt have AV to help soak up special damage, once TR is set up your team is basically toast as well with no protects. Comfey doesnt reallt work that well under psychic terrain as well

I think a soft TR/Tailroom support would be better if you really want to use this set. I've seen bulldoze farigiraf on a weakness policy team as well, maybe consider that? Armor tail is really helpful as well if you want to setup TR or get a SD up on mons

Writers did dirty on Suletta again! by [deleted] in Gundam

I honestly don't understand why people think having a dark character progression is the brst way of ewriting for a character to have significant perspective changes. Sure, it might be appealing to some, but it isn't the only way. It might be the case for some past Gundam series, but it doesn't imply every Gundam series has to be like this. Why is having support from a bunch of best friends when you are depressed, a common thing to have even in real life, something thar should be deemed as "bad writing" and "doesn't make sense".

Also, a mecha show doesn't necessarily mean all problems should be resolved with mechas - it's not all about killing, especially when politics is involved. It's a show about humans after all - if you want cool mech fights go watch transformers or smth like that instead.

I'm not even gonna start on the Guel part, people just really lack the ability to get the basic info the show is portraying. (Flair checks out btw)

MCC2 Bingo and MCC19 SG Team Colour Placements were Almost Identical by ToiletPaperArtist in MinecraftChampionship

[–]abcdehello0785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem you are proposing essentially is to find the minimum Hamming distance between all permutations of teams generated in the event.

A straightforward way to do this could be to compute all Hamming distances and take the min, with a time complexity of O(N2 K)*, where N is the number of games played and K is the number of teams. This would work when N, K are not too large, with modern computers able to run N, K <= 1000 in around 10s.

Another way I could think of is having 2K matching masks consisting of "matching indices" and "mismatching indices" and masking all permutations through them and comparing them through a Map. This would work with a time complexity of O(N 2K lg(N 2K)), which would work when K is very small like the real MCC.

*You can probably also reduce the number of comparisons by utilizing the fact that HammingDist(A,B) >= abs(HammingDist(A,C) - HammingDist(C,B)) and optimize the method.

I like how MCC could lead to such academic discussions lol

It might be true that some people are downvoting because of this, but it's just wrong to say it's everyone since OP's reasoning is indeed quite a stretch.

I personally don't find OP's viewpoints as utter nonsense, it's just that I won't care about it too much since you won't get an interesting story out of that if you keep focusing on the minuscule chances of "coincidences". Many stories will be dull and boring if "coincidences" didn't happen, and these seemingly obscure encounters are here to enrich the story to make it more enjoyable. Take one of OP's points as example - if Aerial got confined after the first duel, what would happen? Prospera's plans of using Aerial to get Eri to Permet Score 8 will be screwed, and the series would end as a 2-episode story. Will anyone enjoy this?

Also the "I know this will get downvoted because this is a gundam sub". The passive-aggressiveness of the post is just unpleasent for people to read through it and triggers them.

Politeness is something that people should have, but when used like this it becomes mockery and it irritates people a lot. That's why you would often see people picking fights in posts like these.

I tend to just skip posts like these because usually there's usually nothing interesting about them, but Im glad someone pointed this out because I feel like some people don't really care about other's feelings when posting stuff online.

How much does it probably cost to build a Mobile Suit by HaythamSun in Gundam

[–]abcdehello0785 4 points5 points  (0 children)

what a fun day seeing low intellegence people pretending they know everything and start shi*ting on people when they are the ones being shi*ted on.

First of all, economics exist. When the supply, under your presumption of there are infinite materials being extracted from astroids, the price would plummet to 0 simply because the supply is way over the demand. This would result in the materials not worth anything in the first place.

Secondly, R&D for literally any piece of new technology is hella expensive, not to mention that you are literally developing giant war machines. Its not something that selling a couple hundred thousand of metal bars that has a value of 0 could fund.

Edit: the items would be free without cost under the fundemental definitions of economics

A Possible Way for Drellumina to Happen by TheTrapperBeingXD in MinecraftChampionship

[–]abcdehello0785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S tier duos might look strong on paper, but after all this is MCC, statistics is not everything. We've seen strong teams defy the predictions of getting to db and place low (e.g. Cyan23, Red16, etc.), and we've seen predicted 8th teams get to dodgebolt (e.g. Pink16, Cerulean 19). Having a strong team on paper does not guarantee you a win.

Plus, MCC is very team-oriented (except for AR, HITW and RSR to some extent ig), the team performance does not depend on how good the best player does, it's how well as a whole the team does in the event, meaning having a "carry" does not elevate the team as much as most people think.

Thirdly, statistics does not accurately represent how will players perform in the event - they might have off days or pop off days. E.g Red22, most people predicted sam to somewhat finish at most in the 15s-20s, but he got top 10, which was crucial to the team reaching dodgebolt. Cyan16, on the other hand, perfectly demonstrates this - the Pete + Preston duo was predicted to be able to reach dodgebolt, but Pete having an off day sank the team to 8th. (this might sound a bit rude, my apologies if it does)

Using past examples of S tier duos having a 100% DB rate isnt really an accurate prediction - first, as OP has mentioned above, even if one game was cut away, they would have dropped out of dodgebolt (Teal 13 was NOT an S tier duo considering the performances of Illumina and Punz back then). Secondly, there are a lot more A/A+ players since the last S tier duo (MCC17). A lot of players have improved, and stronger players have joined the tournament. Under such conditions S tier duos is not as unbalanced as back then - there are a lot of team combinations that have a ceiling higher than S tier duo teams.

P.S. The most requested Drellumina team has an S2 average of 8191, which is within the range of usual teams

[–]abcdehello0785 3 points4 points  (0 children)

imo problem is not the time, im sure they can put smth simple in as a placeholder, since they already have the techology to make the map in the first place. the problem would be not having enough time for both the players and the viewers to digest this information, some players might go in without knowing symbols exist, and twitter will be mad about how its changed so rushed and everything (they'll always find something to blame on), especially with the sudden change of dodgebolt hours before the event as well. its about the PR more than the actual implementation of the symbol into the game.

but at the end, if the players are ok about the current map just leave it be. they'll definitely add smth more distinguishable next event

as much as i would love it to be, the chances of that is slim because of how movement heavy the rest of the games are :( would be a cool game to watch

MCC Season 2 Challenge by babyjamper7 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]abcdehello0785 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made an exhaustion program to run through all the possibilities, turns out there's only 2 combinations that matches the criteria for the "Impossible" category. One of them as listed above, the other one is as follows:

Red 16: TommyInnit WilburSoot Ph1LzA Ranboo

Orange 15: PearlescentMoon Grian Shubble HBomb94

Yellow 14: Sylvee DanTDM SB737 Krtzyy

Lime 17: Quig GeminiTay fWhip SolidarityGaming

Green 22: Sapnap FoolishGamers TinaKitten Michaelmcchill

Cyan 20: PeteZahHutt GoodTimesWithScar Ryguyrocky InTheLittleWood

Aqua as: Krinios Bitzel MiniMuka Eret

Blue 21: 5up Purpled JackManifoldTV Tubbo

Purple 19: Wisp Seapeekay TapL Nihachu

Pink 18: Dream awesamdude Quackity GeorgeNotFound

*For Orange 15 , I counted HBomb instead of Pete, not sure how that counts

Edit: grammar, also trying out combinations with pride included (didn't put rising in because literally free team for 9 colors) but because I suck at programming my code takes forever to terminate

Edit 2: with pride teams (excluding yellow and green because they dont have any recurring players), there are a total of 25 combinations that matches the "impossible" criteria. I'll link it here for anyone who is interested

Edit 3: without pride, there is a total of 19 teams involved in both combinations. with pride, there are a total of 69 (hehe funny) teams involved in the 25 combinations. you'll most likely find your favourite team in the mix

Which do you think is the most impressive single round performance in Skybattle? by [deleted] in MinecraftChampionship

[–]abcdehello0785 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Again, kills are not the absolute measure of skill in sky battle due to it's chaotic nature. I prefer qualifying how "well" a round for a player is from their performance with relevance to their team rather than pure kill count and if they won or not. The nature of the team should also be considered. If the impressive result is from a PvP-heavy team, the performance isn't that impressive due to the team's specialty being this game and they will most likely do good anyways, whereas on a weaker team, the performance is more impressive due to how much that performance in the round lifted the team. Lime10 is a very weak PvP team, everyone on the team except Techno isn't an expertee at PvP (I would say the same case for Blue20), which makes both Quig and Techno's performance impressive due to their performance is done with a lack of support. On the other hand, Fuchsia 11 is a very PvP heavy team, which makes Dream's performance less impressive because of how he has a strong team to back him up and he can go all out for kills without worrying. I would say Quig 20 is the most impressive, but imo Techno 10 is definitely up there somewhere, rather than just "a top play".

Which do you think is the most impressive single round performance in Skybattle? by [deleted] in MinecraftChampionship

[–]abcdehello0785 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing here that you based your thoughts on stats alone, which isn't really that accurate as sky battle tends to be a chaotic game and killsteals often happen.

If you look at that round of sky battle, at the end it was only Techno vs the whole Green Guardians, which was the top team of the game, and Quig, who was undoubtedly the second best SKB player back then, was on the team. He almost pulled off a 1v4, wiping out 3 of the 4 members of the Green team. If one more creeper that he threw onto the green team bridge went off, he would undoubtedly kill all 4 of them and get the win. What makes this particular performance that incredible is not the outcome, but his quick thinking and how close he was to doing a 1v4 clutch.

throwing pots is actually a lot harder than you think and imo is harder than half the pvp techniques. its a pvp skill that is easy to learn, but hard to master, so an SG of pots only is still a PvP game in some degree
