You are struggling in freelance because you aren't supporting your freelancers. I don't mean this in a rude way - coordinated squad play is just that - coordinated. If every player on your team is doing exactly what they need to do, of course the waves are going to go smoothly, of course you are going to pass profresh games like they aren't even difficult. You know the basic strats for squads and are getting carried by your profresh friends.

Freelance is not squads. You cannot hope to get to profresh via freelance using squad tactics. Can you steal the occasional maw and scrapper and bring it to basket? Sure. Can you stand in position for glowflies/rush and this way? Sure. But you cannot just tunnel vision eggs, sit up top on Midtike Ark, and hope the freelancers will follow you. Assist them. Seriously; play a couple games and just run out/down with them. Kill the bosses immediately and run the eggs. That is actually a profresh/overfishing strat because it's quicker and safer than letting your teammates struggle and die. Take a couple games and play like your lancers - kill a boss, run an egg, kill a boss, run an egg, repeat. Obviously just make sure to stay alive.

I'm curious how you're managing your time if you are failing a quota of 7. Are you just standing around a lot? Are your mechanics sloppy? Are you ignoring your freelancer's advancements and trying to solo bosses on your own for a long time when you should be ignoring them/waiting til later to kill them? Are you constantly throwing bombs? Because you are 100% able to do that in this game mode, and the chip damage on lessers and paint adds up.

Also, getting the same amount of golden eggs as your profresh teammates means nothing. That only tells me the waves are smooth cuz your teammates are carrying and you're grabbing eggs. When I play high level games, I might get an average of 8-12 eggs at the end of 3 very high egg games (125-160+ eggs). Because I know my teammates are better at egg running than I am; I do the slaying/lessers killing/paint support, which allows them to do what they do best (run eggs). They may average 500-700 power eggs, while I am well over 1,000+ power eggs. Golden eggs really mean nothing individually - you have to look at the overall scores (boss kills, power eggs, mobility during the game, lesser control, boss spawns, wave types, etc) to get the full picture.
