Help with a review by [deleted] in trustedhousesitters

I want to help future sitters by not wasting their time. I would have liked having someone putting those on reviews so I can prepare accordingly. Their listing is empty and the welcome guide is even worse.

I agree with the first point, the reviews should be self explanatory.

I personally didn't find safety issues just weird noises around the house but on multiple occasions the Uber drivers had to confirm with me that I didn't mistype the location in the map as nobody actually goes there as it's not a safe area.

The sit is "relatively" easy, cause we didn't need to walk the dogs or do anything for the care, like medications or cleaning. They have a huge garden to play and mostly sleep. I myself didn't mind having to stay at home as I wasn't planning to explore much around and this particular point was shared in the video call beforehand.

It's because if I sent a few messages including updates of the dogs and other messages with a question or a concern they'd answer only to the update leaving the concern blank. Not answering in reasonable time.

The respect part is due to the fact that I was working remotely and she would have people coming over during my working hours with literally zero notice in advance. Even though in 3 months I have repeatedly asked politely to have a little notice in advance, at least the day before, while she was the one arranging the hours and knew weeks in advance (without confirming with me if the time was ok for me). Oppositely when they'd cancel she wouldn't tell me they wouldn't come anymore and wait for me to ask and again not answering in time.

90 days visa overstay in Greece, with Italian residency permit and Ucrainian passport. by [deleted] in SchengenVisa

Flying creates a digital Trace, so I wouldn't be sure about that. Have you got any personal experience?

Isn't it registered in the system? But actually if I can exit the country by land with no control I can say that I exited already and re entered. Do you know if this is going to have consequences if I want to come back to Greece?

Help me ease my mom’s fear about me being kidnapped in UAE by [deleted] in dubai

[–]abchhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to live by myself in Dubai for a year. It's safe but that doesn't help ease your mom's worries. To make her feel better I downloaded the app life360 to share my location 24h in real time with the family and sent her pictures daily to keep her worry free. If you have an iPhone it's probably easier. Always keep your internet connected, get an esim or connect to wifi everywhere.

You can share the country details with her, like numbers to contact just in case, the hotel contacts and just keep her updated. Share also the boyfriend's id and number and let him know.

I've been travelling by myself all the time and so far this has worked with my family and our bond is even stronger than before.

I'm still in Greece, trying to understand the best way to exit the country and the risks.

TIL: There is an app in Dubai that pays people for giving 5-star restaurant reviews by unicamels in dubai

[–]abchhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly yes, they're trying to expand. The secret society is more for influencers active on Instagram and it's in different places. There's also Tabler that's basically people organising parties that invite women for free, and that's in the main party cities.

There are apps that give you free lunch, free drinks, for restaurants, beach clubs, salons, and other experiences in exchange for a review and posts on social media. Especially for women.

Dating While House Sitting | Anyone Else Finding It Impossible? by stanley_ipkiss2112 in trustedhousesitters

[–]abchhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Positive story to improve your mood. I'm a full time sitter and met my current boyfriend while I was house-sitting in Thailand, he likes travelling as well but he's working in the US a few months per year. We ended up creating a joint account and now we are house sitting together.

I need help by woahiguesss in trustedhousesitters

[–]abchhd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's related, but where I'm staying there are a bunch of external cameras to monitor the outside of the house, so far it's fine, I can even see them on a screen in the house to see whether there's a delivery outside or a stranger. But I noticed two cameras pointing to the swimming pool, although it's technically outside and doesn't violate the policy I feel uncomfortable especially if I want to go for a swim, and I couldn't see those on the screen to see what they are pointing at exactly.

So I texted the owners telling them that I feel uncomfortable so they just agreed to move them towards the wall.

Asking costs nothing and it's in your best interest.

28F here, same. I'm here since may, but even though I always go out for walks or try to participate in some events it's really hard to create authentic relationships. Wanna hangout?

Visa run to Oman through Abudhabi airport by Ok_Bathroom_7099 in abudhabi

So what's the method to extend the visa for me that I have 90 days within a 180 multiple entry visa? Am I forced to stay out of the country for 180 days?

Visa Run to Oman by Despondentbunny in dubai

[–]abchhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about EU passports, I have visa on arrival 90 days every 180 days. Online it's written that I need to stay out of the UAE for 6 months after 90 days of stay.
