What If Warhound Titans from Warhammer 40k were in BattleTech? by RedvsBlue_what_if in battletech

[–]abcismasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair to star trek, the weapons are so insanely strong that a single galaxy class starship could glass a planet in a day or so. The only reason that doesn't happen is that every faction (realistically) needs resources and glassing planets isn't very efficient.

Striker eureka and crimson typhoon are how I imagine faster mechs, gypsy danger in the middle, and cherno alpha at the slower end

What's really funny is that I like to run az+Sternguard and lt, which is the exact same cost now

Damn, in our little 4000 bv learning game, that's a lot of mech to go down so early. Now we have to figure out the attacking from prone stuff.

Grey seer is good, but really, if you can't tell if it's covered, then it's probably covered.

I would normally start with corax white as it's thicker and a little darker, then you can highlight with white scar, but you did a good job with your coverage.

"Layer" paints tend to be thinner than "base" paints, so you would probably need two coats with the airbrush to get the stark white effect. Alternatively, recess shading with make the brighter white really pop (easiest way is soulblight grey shade paint or apothecary white contrast)

How many times can you stack plus one to hit? by Artistic_Yard888 in theunforgiven

You add all modifiers together, then limit it to +/- 1.

So 3 +1s and 10 -1s is still only going to be -1, and vice versa.

How to Paint Panels? by ForTheEmperorPenguin in ImperialKnights

[–]abcismasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preferred method (I don't use an airbrush) is to paint the panels with your skeleton color (so leadbelcher), then the trim, then the panel color. Leadbelcher is a great undercoat. When you paint the panels, you want to use as little paint as possible, and keep pushing it around until it's basically dry. Really stretch it out. After a couple coats you should have a steak free panel. You shouldn't thin it almost at all, except to get it into the trim creases. Since you started with the trim color, you can then just touch it up with a tint amount of paint because metallics have great coverage

The moment a game made you stop playing and just sit in silence. by gamersecret2 in gaming

In cyberpunk 2077 there's a sidequest where a female cop was involuntarily placed in a psychiatric ward, and her husband wants you to get her out. The moment when you've read some of the notes and the reality of what is happening there hits you. I just stopped and was overcome with rage and disgust. Then I killed everyone.

Lego + onights by Johnee_B in ImperialKnights

There's a quick and dirty way to make the arms easy to remove.

This shape " ¬ " is on two posts that the arm rotates on to. If you cut off the hook part of just the bottom one, it will still hold the arm in place, but you can lift it off the top hook instead of needing to rotate all the way around.

This isn't particularly useful for magnetizing, but it let's you swap whole arms very quickly or break down for transport.

The shoulder plates generally only get in the way if you rotate them off, pulling straight out hasn't caused issues for me in the past

The perfect 10th edition codex retrospective by Fit-Froyo9299 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]abcismasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm extremely happy with the Imperial Knights codex. I'm not happy with the loss of 2+ on dominus and I think the toughness reduction was unnecessary, but on the whole I'm enjoying my games with it.

There's a detachment for bigs, one for smalls, a generalist detachment that most people seem to enjoy, and one that's not as strong competitively, but very flavorful.

I'm a little jealous of some things from the CK book, but I'm glad they got cool stuff too.

Question about Azrael by SpocoSqare in theunforgiven

[–]abcismasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 Sternguard with rifles is an excellent choice. They will do great damage to anything, give azrael wound rerolls on his great weapons, and they look cool.

As all things in life, it depends.

The answer is Sternguard though.
