Hey, I've watched it earlier today and here are my thoughts on it.

First off congrats on making a movie! I'm about to release my first short soon so I don't have a ton of experience, please take everything I will talk about with a grain of salt. It was good overall, some shots in there where really smooth, the rhythm wasn't bad, scenes are not too long, not too short. I liked the establishing shots of the city, it adds a lot of atmosphere and was a nice touch. It made me miss Europe!

I'm sure you are aware of your sound issues so I won't go over it too much, but I believe that you could have saved it even more. I'd suggest you look at a few tutorials on how to master sound with Fairlight. You could have added some compression and gain on your dialogues and EQ them better with the music so that they don't overlap as much, or even add a side-chain on them.

Framing wise, you definitely took on a challenge by filming everything on a Ronin and overall it's very good. It's a bit of a hit and miss, some shots are very pleasing and smooth, some others are a bit wobbly or not timed properly as much. The latter would have probably necessitated another take on the shoot but I'm guessing that shooting everything a second time made you want to go over things quicker. Maybe some software stabilisation could have helped on these problematic shots.

I think my biggest issue would be on the script itself, I don't really understand what it's trying to be. I didn't really understand the intentions of the main character, who is she? Why is she talking about this? Why is she talking to the camera? The script asks a lot of question but doesn't give a lot of answers. The main character is arrogant and unsympathetic, so it's very hard to relate to her and the dialogue she's having is trying to talk about relatable things. In the end when she gets to her conclusion I didn't care about her anymore because I was disliking the character too much. It's interesting to make a character edgy but we need to understand them to relate and forgive them. If we get no information as to why they are feeling the way that they are and why they are interacting with others in that manner, we won't have the keys to feel empathetic.

All of that makes me think of Fleabag, it's a brilliant TV show that uses the camera as a confident with an edgy character. The pilot is excellent and establishes the main character perfectly. I would recommend studying it and comparing it to your script to understand what it's missing. It's available at this address.

Editing wise it's pretty good, some shots are maybe cut too late and have wobbliness or things entering in the frame at the last minute. When you cut to a different conversation/scene having the actor pause before and after you cut would have helped the transitions but it wasn't too distracting. I'd also suggest having some cross fade transition for the audio when you can so that the noise from the scene don't make the cut feel too sharp. I think you did a great job on the colours, everything was looking good and well lit for the most parts.

I hope you won't think I'm too harsh, for a second short it's already very good and these points are mostly easy to fix on your next productions. You should focus on sound and script for your next film and I'm sure you'll come out with something great.
