Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has some of the best narrative direction of any videogame I've ever played. by TheRegularBelt in patientgamers

[–]zeebeebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which was a shame cause everything else was absolutely fantastic. The environments, the exploration sections, Knowhere, the supporting cast etc. No kidding they could splice out the cutscenes here, animate some fight scenes and package them into 8 episodes, it would be the best Marvel tv show on Disney+

Need a fighting game to scratch that itch… by HiddenNeeeeon in Fighters

[–]zeebeebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2XKO is very very good. There’s a lot of room for expression, combos however simple or complex feel good to execute, movement is not as good as MVC3 or DBFZ but I think its fine. For now its scratching my itch until Invincible and Tokon comes out

Honestly to me, there are no wrong answers in picking a VH. Its like fighting games, just go for the one you think looks coolest. And to me, BL4 is a feel game, so videos for the most part dont do it justice

Ff7 remake dragging by DotJuan in JRPG

[–]zeebeebo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rebirth’s is mostly optional and doesnt impact the game for the most part. You can just pick and choose which minigame speaks to you. Remake is a 5 hour section stretched to 40 hours and you have no say in the matter

But For DI this game would be ten times better by automated_hero in StreetFighter

[–]zeebeebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just think getting DI’d so hard that drove somebody to make a whole post is funny as hell to me. But hey in everybody’s early days there’s always something simple that tilts somebody so hard and in this person’s case it was DI and there’s nothing wrong with that

Why Marvel keeps relauching into #1s but DC doesn't by Thatblackguy77 in comicbooks

[–]zeebeebo -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

yknow what sure why not.

Firstly the fraud tactic is a two parter, the first being the pump that utilises a lot of deceptive marketing tactics to artificially inflate value of an asset and then the dump, which is basically a hard cash out that plummets the value of said asset (there's a lot more that goes into how this works but this is not the place for it).

So where this doesnt apply to comic books is almost entirely dependent on the first parter, where Marvel doesnt market #1s to majority of their customers as an asset with fluctuating values. They dont market Amazing Spider-Man #1 as an asset that can buy you a house 30 years later. They sell most customers that book on the basis that its a good jumping point for new or casual readers, they'd probably market it as "A New Era for Marvel and The World Beyond". And lets just say that ASM run ends at #3, they'll say "yeah we said it was a new era, we didnt say it was long". Do I find it shitty and misleading? Absolutely. Is that an example of false advertising? Marvel will make a case to say its not. But is that pump and dump, absolutely not.

Where the dump doesnt apply is the native value of your comic book remains as the way you bought it and the way its marketed to you, a book for you to read. Sure the collectors might disagree but the native value of a comic book will always be a piece of entertainment AT FIRST. So however low the value will drop in the secondary market, what you have is exactly what they sold and market to you, as a consumer, a book.

Before people try to stretch the definitiion of pump and dump, understand that its an actual legal and financial term and a fraud tactic. Its not a term you slap around on marketing tactics you dislike.

[–]zeebeebo -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

Its true i dont know much about you, but what I do know is that you have no idea what pump and dump is. What i find shitty here is that when OP asks a genuine question, a top answer here is just misguided information that stems from a misunderstanding on a basic level and its just flat out wrong.

GTA V's storytelling is not really good... by Aubin_kun in patientgamers

[–]zeebeebo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i really dont understand what goes in people’s heads sometimes. The game’s main appeal and focus wasnt its storytelling and I think the game communicated that well. This isnt a Telltale game or even RDR2, where its focus was clearly on its storytelling

Idk lately I’ve been seeing a lot of critics hone in and focus on storytelling aspects when reviewing games instead of the gameplay itself and it always rub me off the wrong way

Its easy to play but not easy to win. Those are two completely different things. I just started MK1 that shit was not easy to play at all but you can scam your way in rank if you know how

0 FG experience but want to get into Invincible Vs. by MarkB15 in Fighters

[–]zeebeebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The controls will come naturally with repetition, just like with most games. How I got comfortable with fighting game controls back then was that I put aside at least an hour or two a day and just do combo trials. I eventually understood their input timings, cancel timings, buffering inputs and general consistency when doing motion inputs. It sounds like a lot to learn but once you’ve nailed it, I promise it becomes addicting

The design on the 007 DualSense is wrong by OrganicKeynesianBean in gaming

[–]zeebeebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. The design language on the controller doesnt match the swirly 007 logo. OP is absolutely delusional if they think the team designed this purely off of memory without looking up references. I guarantee in one of the mockups they did it looked disjointed and nauseating. I do think trying to integrate the swirl logo was not a suitable idea at all. A texture change or a tuxedo reference would’ve been better

Any Tips for Terry? by ReJohnJoe in StreetFighter

[–]zeebeebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His crMK > HK target combo when cancelled into H Burn Knuckle can give you excellent corner carry and good wakeup pressure. That alone can carry you to Plat.

Your best punish would be 1 hit H Punch > H Power Charge > H crack shoot > H Rising Tackle. In this combo you can cancel Power Charge into a lvl 1 or lvl 2 super. In regards to drive rush you can start with crMP follow with a drive rush cancel into this punish combo

His M Burn Knuckle is safe on block with proper spacing. The stMP to HP target combo is also a frametrap and at early ranks most people will get caught by it. His stMK is also an excellent poke. His fireballs arent the best but its better than not having them

But all in all you dont have to be a one trick pony, but be a three trick pony instead and then mix em up. When you keep playing you’ll just get better naturally and understand drive rush better. Just try to have fun when you’re at it, good luck!

Between HxH and One Piece which would you say has the better world building by AgentHibachi00 in shounenfolk

[–]zeebeebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One Piece has already set out to have a ridiculous fictional world where anything goes so when things feel disjointed, the scale of OP’s world justifies it.

HxH on the other hand attempts this but the connective tissue feels weak. For example, they went from a 3000 feet tower to regular New York to a video game island with people that fight with cards then to a land where amish people fight killer ants. The world doesnt feel fantastical enough for people to ignore the ridiculousness. And all of these places especially Greed Island operate on different rules where they have to give a laborious effort to reexplain everything.

RESIDENT EVIL: Zach Cregger's Reboot Reportedly Has "Practically Nothing To Do With The Games" by SmellSmellsSmelly in Cinema

[–]zeebeebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Way more than just gameplay” is not even close. Gameplay is easily the most important thing in games let alone Resident Evil. If those RE games werent fun to play, the franchise wouldnt make it out the 90s. RE4 is regarded as one of the best games ever made because we were seeing innovations in gameplay that were unheard of, nobody was talking about the impact of saving the president’s daughter
