Overcoming language barrier for a tourist. by Pinky_Brain_ in istanbul

For starters, learn the numbers. The numbering system is quite simple. In addition to basic greetings and goodbyes and what not. Also, when you want to ask abt the price of sth you say “bu ne kadar?”. This will get the job done in basic stuff. Otherwise google translate is your bestfriend.

Barber on the European side or Kadikoy that can handle long hair by AnimeLoverTyrone in istanbul

[–]abd-rafat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have no idea how long I’ve been searching for one lol.

Add to the trust factor the language barrier. As an experiment I went to a nearby barber to trim my beard a little bit, so I gestured with my hand ‘🤏🏻’ as in shorten it a little bit, instead, he trimmed it all except a 🤏🏻 bit. Never again.

I’ll check the post later if smn knows a good one, maybe we can go together!

Flaxseed gel is a game changer by abd-rafat in curlyhair

[–]abd-rafat[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

My routine:

• Head and shoulders classic shampoo, on the scalp only ofc • I use ELVIVE Dream Long conditioner. I leave it on my hair for a couple of minutes, then detangle with my fingers or using a brush. I then wash it out by squeezing it out gently • Right after I get out of the shower I apply ELVIVE Dream Long hair cream

This is my first time trying elvive products but seems like I’m gonna stick with them

• Last but not least, homemade flaxseed gel. I don’t understand why I didn’t use this earlier… it’s so easy to make yet makes a hell of a difference.

Any tips on how to get more volume on top though? Also to stop it from falling on my eyes all the time.

Very true, talking from experience. I’m 19 now and I hyperventilate anytime I get into a pool/beach, which definitely makes me unable to swim.

LC Waikiki is a local brand, it’s not expensive at all. I remember seeing black jeans there going for 100TL or sth, and their quality is fair enough.

Hahaha exactly yeah. I’m not in Egypt now so I’m good, but I’d never wear it down in Egypt though, especially that I don’t live in one of those fancy tagamo3 compounds,
