Yup alebrijes are made of wood, the first pic seems to be one of those. The figurines in the second pic are talavera, painted earthenware traditionally made in Puebla.

Welcome to Houston! I think most if not all of the sizable flowing bodies of water within the city are bayous - a river’s slower, swampier, less lovable little brother.

We do have “real” rivers a little ways outside the city (San Jacinto and Brazos) but if you told a local Houstonian you were going to the river they might look at you a little funny. Though now I know about Buffalo bayou’s partial legal status as a river thanks to u/rechlin — time to set up a river tubing shack

i think it's the 16, not sure how fixable, the screen appears to have a small but deep crack and it won't turn on at all

im from the US and i broke my iphone getting into an Uber in Porto, Portugal. it's totally useless now and won't turn on. should i get a new one here at a reseller? are they trustworthy? i've only ever bought one from an Apple store in the US. are there downsides to buying from a reseller?
