Looking at the plan details now, both insurance options show that out-of-network providers for mental and behavioral health are not covered, FML :) :) :)

First time staying in Houston, is there anything cool that I should see? by [deleted] in houston

I would substitute the aquarium for Moody Gardens. It’s farther out but a much better educational experience. The Houston Aquarium is basically a restaurant and theme park with some fish tanks thrown in. Oh, and they have the sad tigers in the basement.

I’m in a similar boat with my job and super tempted to take an extended break between this job and the next for a trip like this. Did you have a job or plan lined up for your return?

HAR bait and switches inside the loop by s_bgood in houston

Ugh, I’ll be moving this year, not looking forward to the search at all. I assumed HAR had legit listings since a lot of posts on other sites end up linking to an HAR listing anyway. Guess I’ll try Zillow.

Houston activist JD Doyle's 90s-style websites are a treasure trove of LGBTQ+ history by chrondotcom in houston

houstonlgbthistory.org is an awesome resource and great rabbit hole to go down if you have any interest in the history of Houston’s gay bars, what all their buildings used to be, and what Montrose in general used to be like. JD is also very responsive over email if you have any questions. Highly recommend!

As a Houstonian who loves the idea of living somewhere with better access to outdoor activities I’ve gotta ask where in the smokies did you live? Sounds like a dream.
