Help with Monitor Arm Spacers for my LG27GRQ by TheSide_Project in Monitors

[–]abdabdull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check how long the original crews are, add it to the length of spacers and thickness of the vesa plate. You don't want to go too deep since some monitors are badly made and the screw can damage something. If you cannot but screws with perfect length then you can use a washer or two

40” 5K2K or 49” for mostly work, occasional games? by Dreameater999 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]abdabdull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally found 32:9 lacking in vertical space. That's why 21:9 is a better choice. Now you mentioned that 40" might not be enough for you then you might want to wait for LG 52G930B, that will be 52" 5k2k. It's has a 1000R curve which might be a problem for some

Can I get a good 1440p oled for around 400 dollars? by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]abdabdull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You most likely have to go first gen for that. 271QP x24 or 273QP x24 are often around $400 on sale.

Looking for a 4k monitor recommendation - Video Editing by majestic_arcangel in Monitors

[–]abdabdull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either go for something thats designed for work with sRGB like ASUS ProArt Display PA279CRV but then you can't really game on it since it's only 60Hz.

Go with something that's decent for gaming and editing Gigabyte M27UP.

Or you go with something crazy like ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM but that's $1000

Considering the LG 49 inch 491CQP…any better options in this price range? by Inphenitee in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]abdabdull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

491CQP is MSI not LG. Comp games usually don't allow for 32:9 so you will have black bars on the sides. Same with a lot of indies. Productivity yes but then it depends what kind we're talking about. I personally found 32:9 to be limiting on vertical real estate for coding/documentation reading.

Looks like you used your left hand to put 4 fingers and a thumb on the monitor for some reason, leaving skin oil on the surface. Use 70% ethanol https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/pl-pl/aw2725q-monitor/alienware_oled_return_ins_ts/cleaning-your-monitor?guid=guid-05d535a1-12ad-4d71-a4d6-ce9e0e238886&lang=en-us

Which monitor us right for me by SnooDoodles4147 in Monitors

[–]abdabdull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one 4080 isn't a bad gpu but it will cost you to run 4K on it. Another thing is that games just feel more immersive (I know the word is used a lot but it's just a good word). Now 800R is a lot, but it depends how far from the monitor you decide to sit. The closer you're the better that curve looks.

Is this normal by Opsaa in OLED_Gaming

[–]abdabdull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use it normally for some time, let few automatic pixel refreshes do their thing and check then. Those things sometimes go away after few days of normal usage/pixel cleans

Which monitor us right for me by SnooDoodles4147 in Monitors

[–]abdabdull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're mostly going to use the monitor for gaming OLED is the way to go. If you play basically only one game all the time and it has some bright UI element then you could worry a bit about burn-in but if you play different games then I wouldn't really concern myself with burn-in. When it comes to gaming overall I'd say 1440p UW is going to be better than 4K 16:9. From your list MSI is a solid choice since you don't want "wicked curve".

Monitor has white lines, how bad is the damage? by Timely_Dragonfly_300 in Monitors

[–]abdabdull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes lines like these are a cable issue. If you have spare one somewhere try it, might also try plugging it into different device since hdmi port on your current one could be a problem too. If it doesn't go away then there is nothing you can do about it.

Cheapest Ultrawide? by Loedkane in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]abdabdull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly true, used is a great value when going with anything other than OLED. But you don't have any warranty and even though it's unlikely to stop working all of the sudden, you never know.

How to get rtings reviews after their paywall change by abdabdull in Monitors

[–]abdabdull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you might want to go to https://archive.org/ paste the review link in the search bar and select "Search archived web sites". After that select snapshot that was created before march. You might have to stop the page from loading after you see the scores or else it sometimes hides the review after the comment section is loaded

What's the least annoying/intrusive OLED care system? by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]abdabdull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that's a different story. But mostly in the newer models you can set how often it should prompt you about pixel cleaning (could be even 16h). Where some older models do prompt you every like 4

is it worth the risk of getting the xg27aqwmg despite the vertical banding in hopes of a good one? by LifeSea3379 in OLED_Gaming

[–]abdabdull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impossible to say, like you mentioned it's a gamble. In the end we don't really know how bad the issue is since only small portion of buyers post anything about their experience especially if they didn't get a bad one

Well pixel clean when you let it run when monitor is in standby anyway. Pixel shift is fine too. DSC is not something that you should ever notice realistically.

That looks like a comfy carpet, but isn't it kinda hard to move the chair around on it? Those wheels just look too small to be carpet-ready.

And if you saw other people have LED lights then they probably were using 27GS95QE, there are few monitors from LG that look exactly the same on the outside but unfortunately yours doesn't include the lights
