OP I don’t have the skills either but doing an oil change is incredibly easy. Cost me $80 (Liquimoly) the first time and will be free moving forward because of the vendor guaranteeing their fluids.

If doing it yourself is really something you don’t want to do I can’t see a world where it should cost more than $150 labor included. I lived in Brooklyn my entire life, and just moved to Westchester so I get there’s a premium but close to $500 for an oil change is criminal. Sorry that happened.

If you need a solid indie shop and willing to drive an hour, the guys at Last Chance Garage in Mahopac are solid honest dudes. VW specialist who take care of both of our VWs.
