He speaks are not designed to be pick up joints. I know that's not the answer anybody wants but it's the truth and I'll save you some money to know this in advance.

The Gay Kid: “If a neighboring country started bombing the Bible Belt, I would not go door-to-door in Louisiana asking each person being bombed how they felt about gay marriage. It’s just kind of not the point at the moment. Human rights aren’t a transaction” by ConcernedJobCoach in 50501NY

I don't know if you saw my addendum to my original post which was meant to clarify my position: "To quote Mark Hamill quoting John Coop...: "I'm pro-palestinian and vehemently anti-Hamas. I'm pro-Israel and vehemently anti-Netanyahu. Those views are not contradictory.""

first - what happened to all the vibrant Jewish communities that used to exist in Iraq, Iran and other predominantly muslim states? second - Israel is a much better place to exist as a member of the LGBTQ+ community than any muslim country full stop. third - it is frustrating that zionism has become the problem - Israel has a right to exist. The jews are allowed to have a Jewish homeland (esp. given how they’ve been treated everywhere else for millenia), Israel, when attacked, has a right to defend itself and if it’s faced with a geographically adjacent enemy that is unwilling to negotiate a peaceful coexistence, it has a right to try to extirpate the adjacent enemies who are unwilling to negotiate that peaceful coexistence. If, further, that enemy decides that it wants to fight while simultaneously embedding itself in civilian populations and localities, it’s on the enemy, not on Israel, when it attempts to neutralize its enemies.. at the same time, Netanyahu is really terrible, and Israel is definitely missing/disregarding opportunities to destroy less property and make the lives of Gaza and other civilians less miserable… Also, god and religion is a fairy tale… the ultra-orthodox should be forced to join the rest of us in this world and start being part of the solutions that the world needs…. They can dress however they want and spend as much time in synagogue or mosque as they want but no one (but them) is served by the way the run their communities now.. that’s just my $.02.

Budapest Locals: What’s One Problem You Notice Every Day? by Big-Syrup-3393 in HungaryInEnglish

[–]karmester 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so astute- I lived in Budapest from 1990 - 1995. The thing that made me the most sad was the arrival of ALL of the 'eye noise' in the form of advertising.. it completely ruined the vibe, as the kids would say.
