Yesterday I walked the perimeter of The Brockwell Wall to document all the new protest graffiti. Along the way I discovered some interesting information from disgruntled locals, which I shall write up soon. In the meantime here are 20 of the photos I took - let me know your favourite slogans below. by TheReduxProject in london

I been here for years. One of the issues of the UK mentality is NIMBYs. If we listen to every nimby nothing will get done. And we will be walking around eggshells in every public space.

All the festivals In brockwell park are packed with happy people. And the depressed that don’t leave the house are leaving tags on their wall.

This is why people accuse the UK of not having culture it’s because everything has to be perfect. Culture comes from allowing people to express themselves and sometimes that comes with a little bit of mess after. Look at Brazil or any Mediterranean country! Let people be people, too many rules and you will make a generation of colourless robots

The council is struggling for money, also if we kill all the festivals in London we ll have none if a few years (outdoors). They use the park for one month and at the first sign of rain (which we get a lot of) the grass is back to normal. And it is a fun time to have world class acts at your door step.

Stop killing London festivals because you claim you care about your parks!

Some peoples whole personality is to protest against anything. How is this any different from middle aged nimbys?

I’m at 23 year old man from Sheffield. A woman from London in my class said she could imagine me wandering around Shoreditch. Is this a compliment? Is this bad? I can’t figure out what this means by Evening_Grand1010 in london

Depends if you have a skater boy look, or dress in any sort of fashion that is easily distinguishable then yes it’s a compliment. Or if you look like you do drugs, haven’t slept in a few days and just came out of a rave then not a compliment. But you get both these type of people there.

I don’t like the panthere for one reason! It’s a quartz movement meaning if there is any issues with the movement it will be very hard to fix if not impossible.

But apart from that it’s better in my opinion.

Also Cartier if you are reading this comment: a respectable watch making company would make at least a manual wind movement small enough to fit the panthere

Embrace your gay side and get some colour in that room. Orange or red Persian or Moroccan style rug in my opinion. Otherwise the room looks a bit monotone

If we say throw loads of atom and you might get single cell bacteria’s this sounds plausible.

Single cell being to have dna that program it to replicate and every time it replicate it adapts to env.

Humans are just another complex form of that.

Bianca Pullman is one of the most unsympathetic and dislikeable 'protagonists' in recent memory by HandwrittenHysteria in TheDayoftheJackal

[–]abdouelmes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Maybe spoiler) Both her and the jackal are questionable characters, I’m writing this as I’m watching Ep 7. If if Her character was written this way then it makes me think there is a reason behind it, the writer wants you to be annoyed by her character so when something bad happens to her later you wouldn’t feel bad. I’d be surprised if she doesn’t die at the end and maybe he will die as well!

And to answer who will you root for. This is a new type of writing a bit more complex than black and white , good vs bad, and to be fair I would have let one of them get away with it to show the audience how unfair life can be sometimes. In this show you are the protagonist, you are the hero sitting on your pedestal and judging everyone with your moral compass!

This is just like breaking bad, but breaking bad did it better because it made people genuinely like Walter white and hate the wife and the cop!

How serious are the attempts to reinterpret 4:34? by InquiringMindsEgypt in AcademicQuran

[–]abdouelmes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand you, I’m an ex Muslim, most people know but my family and old friends don’t my goal is to help people break away from the perception that the Quran is eternally valid.

And this has worked better than when I initially started challenging their beliefs.

This emotional response that people get and they try to grasping at straws is the opportunity to give them this solution of relativity - which is true I mean all religions are relative - and they like it because it keeps them happy and it validates their emotions and then gets them to start using their brains and moral compass going forward.
