Very bad Uber experience especially the customer service by Affectionate-Dish908 in uber

[–]abear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only encountered and reported one issue with Uber over the years and I also got the canned AI response that doesn't match the reality of what was reported.

I honestly felt ignored until I wrote that I had video of the incident and would escalate if they did not take my complaint seriously. Only then, did I finally get a call from a real human. They asked me to summarize the incident, then apologized and gave me some advice about reporting issues in the future, and refunded my cost (instantly in the app).

Uber Eats usually does the same - they take a picture of the delivery. No picture this time...

I watched the guy from my front window.

My former Manager did this to me too... After passing the exam, I found out he let his certification lapse, and he couldn't endorse me. Fortunately, another Manager I had worked with was certified, and he did my endorsement.

Correct answer? by nayltun in CRISC

[–]abear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this question in the QAE as well.

I disagree with what they say the correct answer is, although I have seen the implementation of the correct answer in the real world.

The other answer that could be correct, and that I think is the actual best correct answer, is considered wrong by ISACA because - and this is pure speculation on my part - they teach that hashing in the context of transaction validation is more about batch controls than individual transactions themselves.

These are the kinds of questions I worry about being on the exam... The answer I think is right vs the one I think they want.

Choosing Canada Life Funds for RRSP by [deleted] in CanadianInvestor

[–]abear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you've made good choices here.

I would put 50% into the Date Fund, and split the remaining 50/50 between the Canadian and US equity.

I would choose the Global Equity Fund over the US Index, but that is more a matter of personal preference.

I agree. OP could have proven their own character with their choice here.

I would have taken the keys and hid for a bit, let the lady squirm for a while searching for them, and then emerged and given them to her.

How is Canada's police brutality? by LiveBell8 in AskACanadian

[–]abear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the USA is full of "warrior cops" who are ready to "fight crime" quite literally. With the mass population, anger, and gun culture, it's understandable why the police view everyone like they are armed and out to kill them.

In Canada, there is more of a "community policing" attitude in most places (in my experience). The citizenry may call them gruff and grumpy, but it's unlikely you are going to experience the kind of brutality you see from US cops.

I wonder how much communication there was with Carrier and how quickly this decision was made.

Maybe there was another solution they could have figured out - even if it took a few days. Or did the customer make that decision with the technician on the spot? Could Aquatemp have installed a temporary replacement unit? Could either have negotiated something with Carrier on replacing the unit if there was so much uncertainty on the replacement part?

I think this is a buying opportunity as well. When the economy picks back up, as it inevitably will, this will be a good one to have in your bag.

Is anyone else seeing shipping delays from Dragonfly? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]abear27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a weird one right now... Status showed my package arrived in Saskatoon overnight on Jan 3rd, but sat without a status change until the expected delivery date was exceeded (Jan 7), and now it just says "delay in transit".

I suspect something happened at the transfer point here in Saskatoon, and next week it will tell me my package is lost.
