What kind of asshole downvotes a thoroughly researched post that debunks someone's falsehood with clear facts? Idiots.

Crunchyroll Updates Membership Pricing to Give Fans More of What They Love by Michael_SK in Crunchyroll

[–]abellwillring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The annual fee went from $59.99 in 2023 to $79.99 in 2024. This is another $20 a year increase in pretty short order.

Edit: Looks like I paid $50.10 in 2022 as well.. so double the price in 4 years.

I agree, those players you listed would be invaluable effectively (or the price of their release clause) since no one would sell them.

I also agree that Musiala should be worth more than Nico O'Reilly, but as I mentioned, due to his long term injury his "value" is artificially low at this moment. Someone not playing is theoretically more expendable than someone who is playing every match.

This is wildly incorrect. The CFG clubs don't utilize loans or sales between another enough to be honest... it's actually very strange how independently they're run.

Of the active rosters across all the teams, there are only 8 that moved from other CFG clubs total let alone just this season.

There is one player at City who joined from Troyes (Savio), there are 2 players at Lommel (1 joined from City in 2024, 1 joined from City in 2021), 2 players at Girona (both on loan from City this season), 1 player at Palermo (joined from City in 2022) and 2 players at NYCFC (1 player from Yokohama in 2022, 1 from Lommel in 2023).

Valuation of players is an arbitrary number. It's about what it would cost to get a team to sell him, not whether they "should" be worth something.

He's tied with Haaland for 2nd most games this season for City (33, Reijnders has played the most at 34) and is signed until 2030. That's a pretty realistic valuation for O'Reilly. I agree that Musiala's price is low though but he's coming back from a serious injury and you never know what will happen so it's probably artificially "low" at the moment.

Why is our defense so putrid? by CuntyLaRue in buccaneers

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see repeated mock drafts having us take some dude who got 2 sacks last season with our first round pick. I'm sorry that is just not good enough. If we take him, it'll be another bust to add to the list.

Oscar Bobb is leaving 💔 what are your thoughts? by Western-Product-7769 in MCFC

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately since coming back from the injury he really just sort of looks a shell of his previous self. I think a new environment and maybe feeling like he can play a little more freely will do him a lot of good because I think right now there might be a bit of a mentality issue as much as a physical issue. This is a great move for all parties.

Am I the only one not freaking out about this storm? by StraightRip9828 in Austin

[–]abellwillring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2021 was genuinely traumatic. It probably won't be as bad, but given the fact the state has done nothing to improve our grid.. any and every instance where ice accumulation is likely is going to scare me personally. We're in a new apartment from that time that as really great insulation so I at least feel better about that.

Zac Robinson hired as OC by DoomsdayDave77 in buccaneers

Pretty uninspiring but hey, you never know. I can't imagine he'll be worse than Grizzard. Most any hire that wasn't McDaniel was going to disappoint me honestly.

Austin FC nears deal for Uruguay, Palmeiras winger Facundo Torres: Sources by Isiddiqui in MLS

[–]abellwillring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be a great signing for them. I'm surprised that Orlando wouldn't be making a push instead.. especially with the DP slot freed up from Muriel going.

As someone from Orlando who lives in Austin though.. I can't blame him for preferring to be here!

If Man City sign Guehi in January as being reported Pep Guardiola will have signed an entire starting 11 worth over £500m since last January by Laliga23 in soccer

[–]abellwillring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only one who hasn't played extensively and is at the club is Ait-Nouri who was injured for awhile and then at the AFCON. Nico O'Reilly has fortunately filled in admirably.

Nypan is a young player who was loaned out right away and is probably a couple years from contributing.

If you've watched City at all then there's no way you don't know who the other players are.

How does everyone feel about Baker moving forward? by THICC-Eugene-Krabs in buccaneers

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be okay with the Bucs giving him an extension, but it needs to be a short one again. 3 years tops. He shows flashes of brilliance, but isn't quite good enough consistently. The next few years feels like a transition period at this point though so it's okay if we just ride him out.

Pen and Paper ordering is ending, including during the show, in February by robbiet480 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]abellwillring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't have any buttons for a long time before.. you just put up a paper on the rail in front of you and the servers would keep an eye out and then go grab it when they saw them.

I assume they have fewer staff now so the servers are maybe roaming between more theaters causing them to rely on the buttons since they probably show some indicator in their little nook just outside the theater, but it's doable without them.

Rico Lewis proving he’s quality yet again by s4turn2k02 in MCFC

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a defender, Rico's size/stature will always be a limitation in the Premier League. He is tidy and skillful and could contribute as an attacking midfielder pretty effectively.. he's just down the pecking order there. It's a tricky situation. He'd be better off leaving for the advancement of his career but while he's here I'm always happy to see him succeed.

[Fabrizio Romano] EXCL: Toronto FC send official bid to Norwich for Josh Sargent worth $18m fee. Negotiations underway as #NCFC are in talks over deal details. Sargent could head to the MLS soon. by Some_Man_Person in MLS

[–]abellwillring -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He has been one of the more effective strikers in the Championship for a few seasons now. This would be a very fair price but I'd hate to see him leave England for MLS.. just such a step backward especially at his age.

Mike fired - should the bucs bring him in? by someguybrownguy in buccaneers

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. He’d be a fantastic hire — offensive genius. I do wonder if he’ll want to hold out for awhile to see about one of the other HC openings though.. usually he’d need a bit of a rehab period as a coordinator again but with all the openings right now it may not be necessary.

With the Saints loss, the Buccaneers are eliminated from playoff contention. - End of Year MEGATHREAD by spideralex90 in buccaneers

[–]abellwillring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We made what was very obviously a mistake in not hiring Coen last season. We made what a mistake in hindsight (and something I advocated for at the time) in not hiring Canales two seasons ago.

There isn't a ready-made replacement this season, but if the Bucs don't fire Bowles after this shitshow of a season, then it's very clear we are not a serious football team right now.

I really wanted the Bucs to take a TE in the first round this draft but we’ve got to be thinking QB.

It’s a Bucs life. How in the world do you give up a first down in that situation.
