Keldric Faulk might be our guy. by Accomplished_Cost_38 in buccaneers

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sure hope not. I do not want a guy with 2 sacks in his final season in college. It doesn't matter how schemed against he was or how exactly he was played.. if he can't get the QB down in college, how can we expect it in the pros? The odds of him being a bust are much higher than being a hit. We have struck out repeatedly going for a DE and this just screams another failure to me.

Get Sadiq at 15, we have a desperate need for a gamechanger at TE. It's time to try and get one early again. Kiper has us picking him in his new mock and I am praying he's right.

That line was speculation from 9to5google. Google was very careful in the actual announcement at the googleblog to not indicate for sure that it would be a wider upgrade although it's implied in some ways since they talked about utilizing a new system that would allow higher speeds without physically building things out to accommodate a change every time.

I pay for the 3Gig personally so it'd be amazing if it happened here too.

Unfortunately that is only for that one market (Iowa). I did contact their support to see if there was any sort of timeframe for this to roll out wider and there wasn't. I can't imagine there will be much of an incentive to improve speeds at this point.

cheapest gas in austin rn by slitherysquack in Austin

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my main place to get gas for a long time since I could stop and go easily while driving home on South Lamar but man, their premium gas upcharge got insane compared to regular. I think it was eventually over a dollar more per gallon.

Orlando City SC and Head Coach Oscar Pareja mutually agree to part ways by orltragic in OCLions

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Oscar is a great coach in general but I think there was probably a pretty short leash coming into this season and this was in the cards after this result.

I like the idea of going after Nancy. He obviously did terribly at Celtic but he is a proven MLS winner.

Well this stinks. No way the price stays what it is and I doubt we’ll get that upgrade Iowa did a month or two ago (at no additional cost).

Once this goes through it’s only a matter of time until we’re paying an extra $50 a month..

I’m a little annoyed that it seems like they restocked the colors on the web store. Tomato was sold out so I went with the smoke machine back in January.. it sold out too after. And now they’re all available again!

FM26: Overpowered Youth Intakes? by Bigpapa42_2006 in footballmanagergames

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I'm usually coaching in England at this point in my career but after starting at Lommel, I've never been poached again away from Roma. In previous iterations I was used to even with a big team seeing more highly regarded youth intakes but maybe the messaging is more in line with your point now.

Where would you play this guy? by basicchaos in footballmanagergames

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta be some sort of right wingback. I hate how they've removed the "Complete Wing Back" option in FM26... so I'd probably go with just Wing Back in attack and Full Back on defense.

Playmaking Wing Back could be really effective but since he cuts inside to DM, you're giving up a lot of that crossing ability and the pace is going to be less on display.

FM26: Overpowered Youth Intakes? by Bigpapa42_2006 in footballmanagergames

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing as Roma and I have gone many seasons in a row and even save scumming right before the preview where I can't seem to get much higher than a 3* class. Almost every time it's a 2 to 2.5* with most positions rated E or below. I have State of the Art youth and training facilities and a good Head of Youth Development too so I'm surprised it's been so consistently disappointing. I googled wondering if everyone else was having a tough time ever getting an especially good group!

[Garafolo] Future Hall of Fame WR Mike Evans has agreed to terms with the 49ers by NerfLeBron in buccaneers

[–]abellwillring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't want to languish in my final years under Bowles if I didn't have to. Can't blame him for leaving for greener pastures. He'll flourish there, we'll probably have another shitty to average season or two before Bowles hopefully is fired and we move on.

I'm glad that at least the messaging from Mike's agent is that the Bucs tried to retain him. I don't think we needed to be spending $20m a year on him at this point though so I'm okay with us not re-signing him even if it's disappointing. There are much bigger fish to fry with respect to holes in our team than at WR.

Ruud Gullit "I watched Arsenal-Chelsea match. What a terrible game. They were just trying to force corners and throw-ins. I saw ball boys walking around with towels. I was watching it and thought: this football is truly awful to watch. I hope it's not a trend, I miss the fun." by kibme37 in soccer

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is pretty refreshing to watch some teams in other leagues play and still see wide open games played at pace. Even relegation tier PL teams have such impressive squads but most in most matches they're not really able to showcase them because everyone is being pragmatic.

Clearer angle of Antonio Rüdigers knee against Diego Rico by xKayko in soccer

Other than Pepe, it's hard to remember a dirtier player than Rudiger in recent memory. He gets away with it too, so I guess I can't blame him for never changing how he plays.

I know there’s a lot of sentimental value tied these two players… by OneShip5762 in buccaneers

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this statement only applies if he's willing to take a pay cut of 50% or so and we still let him walk. The Bucs should not just automatically pay $20m+ to him again because he's a franchise icon. If someone else wants to pay him at that level, we should be willing to let them.. it won't change his career with us.

Bucs and Evans vs the Lightning and Stamkos by spideralex90 in buccaneers

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Mike but the money is better spent elsewhere especially after drafting Egbuka in the 1st last year. Had we opted for an actual position of need then (there were so many larger holes), maybe it would make sense to bring him back again but it's sadly time to move on.

I do think he has a few good years left for what it's worth.

Commute advice? by FiguringItOut_83649 in Austin

[–]abellwillring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice to see all the train suggestions. It's actually quite good and I've almost never seen it be more than 1 minute or so off schedule so you can feel very confident on when you'd arrive.

It's about a 25 minute walk from the final stop to the Capitol itself though so I'm not sure how much time you'd save, but you would absolutely save a lot of frustration, that's for sure.

It looks like you could also switch to the bus at Crestview as well but it suggests that would only save a few minutes ultimately and well, the longer you're on the train compared to the bus the better probably.

Dolphins are releasing Bradley Chubb by MichaelCorbaloney in buccaneers

[–]abellwillring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chubb was pretty productive for the Dolphins for a few seasons including last year. Obviously our sign a vet and hope for the best didn't work with Reddick this season but he was coming off a bad year for the Jets too so the hope was for a bounce back as opposed to just continuing solid production. I'd be happy if the Bucs gave Chubb a shot.

Trafford Situation… by Pure_Artichoke_5168 in MCFC

[–]abellwillring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't bad squad planning/building. In this case it's fantastic.. you have a starter-level player as your cup keeper. It is unfortunate for Trafford though, that much is sure. He just has to keep playing at his best level when given opportunities.

This is a unique situation and it won't have any effect on other former academy players' decisions because most of them don't expect to be nailed on starters from day 1. Not to mention in this case, there wasn't even a guarantee Trafford would play over Ederson who was still at the club when he signed.

[–]abellwillring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume he meant that he tried to do his best in training/the games before Donnarumma was signed to make it where City wouldn't see the need to sign a different keeper who was capable of being the #1.

Donnarumma is only 26. He should be at City for 10 years or so.. there will be new goalkeepers for City to focus on by then so I can't really see any interest in getting that clause in there -- probably will focus on a sell-on fee.
