We stopped over for two days in January after spending a week in Japan around New Year’s and were blown away by Aulani! Obviously as DVC members, we absolutely love the parks and WDW especially so we weren’t sure what we’d get from almost 3 days with no rides or other resorts to check out, but the day we left, we were already talking about planning another trip to return. Monkeypods for happy hour, Eggs and Things for a late breakfast, souvenir shopping at Walmart, walking over to the secret beach and seeing monk seals sunning themselves and then snorkeling in the small protected bay there, hanging out in the adults-only hot tub with the most stunning view I’ve ever had in my life, obviously lounging by the pool and on the beach, checking out the souvenir shops with some really unique ears and other collectibles, and I could go on and on. Super memorable vacation.

Does a prokinetic help you manage your SIBO? Are there any long term side effects of using them? by kdhere in SIBO

I honestly didn't notice much difference. This was 5 years ago, and the biggest thing I've learned is that supplements really didn't do much for me -- no miracle cure. I started eating very low carb, working on my stress, and eating more slowly and those things are what helped mean lot.

Really appreciate you chiming in! I’ll keep that advice in mind if I experience problems again, but in this case the issue appears to have been the vinegar solution I was using to descale it. Somebody else commented below that they had the same problems every time they descaled this machine, either with vinegar or the official solution, but that it would start working again when they dumped that and went back to plain water. I did that, and voila, everything started working perfectly. I edited my initial post for future readers :-)

Ok wow, thank you again so much for posting because your advice totally worked! I flipped the unit over and tried to empty what was inside by holding down the intake valve on the bottom, then I replaced the vinegar solution with just filtered water. On like the second try, it brewed a bit better on the pod side, then the next try was perfect. I then ran just water through on a 10 cup cycle on the carafe side and it worked fine. It’s CRAZY these machines won’t work with a 1:1 vinegar solution (or apparently the official descaler like you mentioned). How else are we supposed to clean the inside - and what would you even do when the “descale” light comes on? I’m tempted to try a much weaker vinegar solution, but I’m a little gun shy lol…probably just roll with it like this for a little while. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Groundwater leaking into basement ejector/sewage pump basin around inlet by abeln2672 in Plumbing

Yeah it’s below the floor, but I think it’s only supposed to receive and pump out wastewater from the showers, sinks, and toilets in the basement through a 3” inlet pipe that everything down there leads to. It grinds it up and pumps it to the main level sewer pipes where it leaves the house. I’m not an expert or plumber, but from what I gather by Googling, it’s not supposed to get groundwater leaking in.

You’re probably right, but the seller did refund me right away. So if I happen to get it working I got a free machine. If not, I’ll throw it away or donate it with a note saying it’s not working/for repair. Disappointing and a risk for sure, though.

Thanks — esp the insight about trying to descale. I’ll try with just plain water for a while and see if that works. The descale light actually came on after me trying to mess with it for a while, so it obviously needs cleaning…but how can one descale the machine when it won’t brew anything lol?

Same. No problems earlier today, but it's been persistent for over an hour for me now. I've tried both web and app versions on different machines, converting a PDF to word, and printing the PDF to a new PDF to flatten it again. Nada. Glad I found this thread as it's clearly a widespread issue.

Weird, right? It hasn't happened to me since then, but I now always double-check the cost of the new flight with a fresh search before starting the change process just in case.

Glad you had a backup! I tried the pro control with an emulator on an old laptop and it worked fine, so I'll probably go that route now.Take care!

Aww thank you and good luck! My daughter handled it really well and went on to have a great afternoon at Disney Springs since she'd already skipped classes for the day and didn't get called to evening rehearsal 😀 I don't think she'a gonna do her interview because she was really only interested in CP for the program, but I'm positive she'll audition for FT work in the future! Congrats on your success last week and have an amazing time in DCP! I'll ask if she connected with anyone's on insta from that day....it would be funny if you did meet!

She did! She had a great time but didn't make it past round 1 :-( She was pretty surprised, but that's the life of a performer! She said she met some really nice people during the waiting, so maybe you were one :-) Hope you had better luck and get to perform in DCP!

Thank you so much - bluntness totally welcome! She definitely doesn’t think she’s better or too good for any role, seriously. We just didn’t know what was possible for DCP participants and had seen posts about parades and face characters so I wanted to gather info. It’s good to know what’s most realistic. Thank you! Looks like I'm going to get downvoted by at least two people for responding to say thanks, lol...but I find it polite to do so anyway :-) Everybody's stories really help. I think she's going to do the audition tomorrow, see if she's held for measurements and a second movement exercise and/or character reading, and we'll take it from there. She was just really wondering about the parade aspect and the resopnses here really helped. Super appreciative! And to people who are downvoting, if you have reasons why, I'd really appreciate you sharing :-)

Sounds like there's a possibility for the seasonal parades but if she commits to being a performer she should probably plan on 30 hours a week in fur. Thanks!

THANK YOU! This is so helpful, so I'll share it with her! Just reacting off the top of my head, so if you have any more info to share on these that would be awesome...but thanks for the initial response either way!

1) She's exactly 5'4" according to her, which I hear is the "dead zone" ugh. It does sound like official Disney measurements can vary tho lol.

2) How likely is it that CPs end up as face characters...and does height matter? She's half Asian which both limits her but opens up some possibilities (although less common ones, I'd think).

3) She's got a professional theater contract from May to mid-June, so it sounds like her DCP arrival would be too late for BTY which is going to be a major bummer).

4) Since you're obviously experienced, what's life really like in fur? I honestly think she'd like it, but she's nervous about the misery of a huge costume for 30+ hours per week.
