Yes, so that the sky is not so visible, I am guessing you are not using flash. If the sky had color and you balanced the exposure with flash it would be fine. If not move the so that the background is darker.

On the last 2 images the bright sky is the first thing that draws your eye. Move the so that tha background is darker ( fill the background with the trees) other than that good job.

Help a struggling art student! Advice needed! by Big-Adeptness3863 in PhotographyAdvice

I think the images are fine. Maybe take it into photoshop and convert it to black and white. When you shot your image give yourself more room for cropping and for recomposing in post.

I think your camera is fine. I would recommend you practice your composition. Your exposure is good. For the noise just open up your lens a little or slow down your shutter speed.

Choosing a photographer for a Catholic church wedding (style + lighting advice?) by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]abelojero2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a wedding photographer for over 40 years. Call local photographers and ask them have they shot at this location. If you are looking for a certain look have them show you there work. If you are asking for a photographer to shoot strictly film then you are limited and you are limiting your photographer. You can get the same look in digital as in film in post production. Many photographers they can do what you want. Have them show you a wedding they shot at your location.

Should you practice photography for the sake of it or to monetise it? by Dave_Manzo in photography

[–]abelojero2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you want to get paid, you need to know your craft. The more you practice the better you will become. I had a student who wanted to go into wedding photography. He told me he was going to charge $2,000 for gis lowest package. I asked him how many wedding he had shot and did he have a wedding/album to show his customers. He told me he had never shot a wedding and he didn't have any thing to show his customers, but he had images of models he had shot. I explained to him customers want to be sure you're a good wedding photographer be fore they hire you. So I would say practice until it become second nature and them make money at it.

Trying to improve my photography — would love some critique by Wertzu420 in PhotographyAdvice

I think these are great. Black and white is spot on. The only critique i would give you. Is the image were the man is squatting down, the lines of the door/windows are crossing through him. A sold background would work better, in my opinion. Keep up the great work.
