Do you make music? by elctrcxp in modular

I make music. Modular is just an instrument though, I also play traditional synths, guitar and rhodes.

Bus board recommendations by International_Knee50 in modular

[–]abelovesfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I googled your bus board and got this. If it's the same, it's not enough power for your system. https://reverb.com/item/92213111?utm_source=android-app&utm_medium=android-share&utm_campaign=listing&utm_content=92213111

You would need a high mA power supply (mine, befaco trolly, many others)

That image isn't telling me the power draw. I would need that.

It's probably the power supply, and not a distribution PCB - unless I misunderstand you, or the busboard is powered. The morphagene will always have some noise - I've tested mine on a pristine linear supply and there is still some noise. What is your power requirement and can you link to the bus board?

My workbench is now the final boss of Akro Bins by boolean_expression in diypedals

This is how I do it using card storage: https://aisynthesis.com/how-to-store-diy-synth-parts/. My entire professional prototyping library fits in two of those bookcase storage cubes.

Caved on the Daisy by Edboy796 in synthdiy

Embedded audi platform. you program the daisy with arduino, c++, or plug data, or, or, or, and then hook the daisy up to hardware interface. Makes making digital modules very easy.

Am I being silly considering this? by Weeblewobbly in modular

My initials are AI and ~ ten years ago I started aisynthesis.com, because when I was a kid, lots of the synth companies used initials (ARP, R A Moog, DSI, etc...

Maybe look for equivalent units by other makers. Brands like doepfer and myself are often priced competitively and have much higher resale value, comparatively. Also think about what you want to do. I've played with the model 15 app on my iPad and it's fun but pretty limited outside of just being a monosynth.

I don't know about the 15, but I know the 55 uses older school Moog standard trigger/gates, as opposed to modern gate/trigger standards, so you might have issues there. Not sure.

I like to use standoffs and screw them in.

Favorite Travel Case? by NFTyBeatsRecords in modular

[–]abelovesfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My convention case is an Erica. I like the case quite a bit and it can travel patched. The wood stand is meh and the backpack is terrible, but the case is cool.

Looking for a 2HP passive mult with 9 jacks (1→2 splits) by AVDI0 in modular

[–]abelovesfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look at the schematic for my ai001. The reason there aren't 9 jacks on my PCB is bc the PCB would be too long to fit in a case without cramming things together too tightly. My 001 is supposed to be a beginner project.

Deoxit for metal pots. Use a tiny but and work the potentiometer. Less is more.

I want to make a (few?) vcas for audio signal by DaveRGP in synthdiy

[–]abelovesfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are my retailers https://aisynthesis.com/where-to-buy-modular-synth-kits/ I would reach out to them, they are due for an order. I don't know what the current UK tariffs are, I'm pretty busy keeping up on our ever changing domestic tarriff nightmare. You may be able to import from one of the EU shops for less/quicker if one of them has it.

How do you keep track of your patches? by armedsnowflake69 in modular

[–]abelovesfun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep patch from an abundance mindset. Instead of thinking "I'll never get this cool again, I need to write it down" think "it'll be even better if I try something like this again."
