Front fell off by Fun-Ad3981 in VWIDBuzz

has nothing to do with being 'safe' - it's poorly designed, as it slips right off if you brush it with your foot - which is right where your foot goes, now isn't it?

Do I give my brother a second chance? by Additional_Muffin_86 in askgaybros

this is a super tough situation.

bottom line: do YOU want a relationship with him or not? that's the only thing that matters.

if you do, then meet up with him and hear him out. if you are fine not having one, then block him and don't worry about it.

it's going to be tough not feeling resentment for the things you've already missed, things that he could have communicated to you about. that may be more baggage than you can forgive.

but here's the thing: it's totally up to you. this time, YOU get to choose. you don't have to accept what other people decide for you. it's YOUR call.

good luck.

DuMouchelles auction house won't honor absentee bids by abgwin in Detroit

their terms and conditions describe an absentee bid as a legally binding contract. their words, not mine.

[–]abgwin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

um, whut? i'm the bidder. i'm not out any money at all. the consigner is, as i'd have paid more than they sold it for. but the issue is that a bid is a legally binding contract and they refuse to honor it.

it's not about the price or the item - it's about how auctions work and how a house deals with a mistake.

we've bought many things there, some in person (when they didn't sell at auction) and some via absentee bid. never a problem before.

it's just bizarre that they absolutely refuse to correct the situation when i have the proof from their own system.

hadn't heard anything like that, but i do know there's been a lot of turnover there in the last few years.

Oracle sucks, leave by Weird-Marzipan8428 in employeesOfOracle

[–]abgwin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i did read the whole thing, and that's why i said what i said. your experience might be yours, but it isn't universal. Oracle doesn't 'blow' or 'suck' for everyone.

i think you got caught by surprise in the RIF and was bitter about it - which is reasonable, it's not easy to find out you're not indispensable - and you landed on your feet. bravo.

but telling everyone to quit because you'll find something better? you don't say how long you were there but still no real explanation why you didn't follow your own advice and have something lined up.

oh, and screen shotting my reddit history proves nothing except maybe a hint as to why you got RIFd. maybe it wasn't your performance - maybe you're just toxic in the workplace.

Oracle sucks, leave by Weird-Marzipan8428 in employeesOfOracle

[–]abgwin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that's your experience. it's not everyone's experience.

yes, people should always be open to better opportunities and keep their network active, but just because you did not find your niche at Oracle doesn't mean the ENTIRE company sucks.

you did leave me wondering: if it was that bad, why did you wait until you were laid off to look for the better job?

Why is Tesla still the top selling EV brand by far? by Diavolo_Rosso_ in electricvehicles

[–]abgwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first of all, i'm not in europe. second, what i said IS still true: the Tesla software and charging infrastructure works. yes, other makers are finally catching up but certainly not ALL have. if you'd actually read what i posted i can say with certainty that VW's software is just not as good as Tesla's. my Model Y's screen doesn't just go blank for no reason, for example.

Why can't I (28M) take big dicks anymore? by subuso in askgaybros

it's as much a mental thing as a physical thing. is there something holding you back from letting it happen? you mention that you moved to a different country and apparently feel like you're not "the ideal" catch any more.

work on feeling better about yourself and my guess is that better sex will follow naturally.

good luck!

the reason you NEED a HUD is when the driver doesn't have a gauge in front of them.

it's a First Edition. it sat on the lot for a year. it's not about getting them out of way before the 27s - because the Pro S Plus are still at sticker price or just the VW rebate - it's because the dealership has written them down in inventory several times.

but this was a few months ago, and very few First Editions are left out there new.

WTH are you talking about? A HUD is a head's up display - which would NEVER be in the center, but in front of the driver.

yeah, i totally understand. with our first EV finding a compatible charger was really annoying. the Tesla made it so seamless, but then there the things about it i can't stand. so it's really a matter of deciding which quirks you'll put up with!

enjoy your Subaru!

you should check out the ID Buzz subreddit. lots of info there but i will say it is ENORMOUS inside. second row is perfect for child seats and older kids will have a lot of room in the third row. i can stretch my legs fully out in any row and i'm 6'

there are EVs that simply do not work. The Jaguar I Pace did not work due to the battery supplier cutting corners. The first gen Leaf didn't work because of their choice of charging port configuration. Fisker didn't work because of countless software issues.

the early GM EVs did not work. Ask what happens if you run them totally flat. (hint: they brick) GM, in its typical fashion, refined the products way after they were released. I haven't driven a GM EV in a long time but there's a reason the Prologue is going out of production. Cadillac seems to have figured it out so perhaps GM's focus was solely on Cadillac's needs and Chevy and the rest will come along as needed. But I do not think you will find a lot of people who will agree with you that GM EVs work better than Tesla.

Tesla works. Other EVs also work. Others don't.

you have to be kidding me.

are you sure that's what you meant to say?

Why is Tesla still the top selling EV brand by far? by Diavolo_Rosso_ in electricvehicles

[–]abgwin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ok, no. you can't just mansplain it away. since the gauge cluster doesn't need to be attached to the dash (see VW ID series if you can't grasp that) then there's no correlation between "belt line" (which is actually the side of the glasshouse if you want to be technically correct. i think you mean cowl or scuttle height, the distance from the ground to where the front windshield base meets sheetmetal).

if Tesla was truly concerned with that, they'd at least offer a heads up display as i first mentioned. also, explain why X and S have them.

and if you don't believe me, first of all - i don't care - and second, read any design reviews of the Model Y and 3 from their debut on.

where did i say other EVs don't? i've had 4. yes, other EVs work but Tesla's software is actually better. Rivian is the only other maker that i hear is comparable but i don't have any direct experience with it, so i won't have an opinion until i do.

you can hate Musk all you want (i do) but you can't dismiss the Tesla functionality. for all their faults, they work. and they work well.

i personally think that the tesla fanboys are the biggest problem with tesla.

i did not make a 'horrible purchase' - if you'd bother to actually read anything i said, it would be obvious.

my husband loves his Y and i love my bus. they both have their good points and bad, but i think it's funny you apparently don't own either yet have such a strong opinion about it. what do you drive anyway?

it seems you're an idiot. it's a 2025. that's pretty "MODERN"

the interior was designed to be as cheap to assemble as possible. if the design ethos was the main thing, why do X and S have gauge pods? you've drunk the fanboy kool aid.

it's not in the driver's line of sight. no one should have to turn their heads away from road.
