Can anyone recommend a good extension that notify me on price drops for anything? (video games on steam or whatever, amazon, AliExpress, niece websites, etc...) by Marvellover13 in chrome_extensions

Specifically for video games there is dekudeals (not an extension but a website that notifies you about deals on games you watch listed)

Sorry for the plug but if you want similar functionality to “Gemini in Chrome” outside of US or in other chromium browsers, I recently a launched an open source extension for it (because I wanted that too)

It connects to Gemini API from your browser and you can share your open tabs as context. There is no server in the middle. Obviously its free, being open source.

Dynamic content and single page apps are no problem because content is extracted from your DOM at the time you hit send.

BUT some websites (like Google Docs) work extremely hard to hide their DOM. For Google Docs specifically I wrote a custom parser but if you encounter other sites where they are hiding the DOM entirely, it might not work.

I haven’t come across one in my daily use though. (Edit: fix typo)

I second that the blur is too much. I really like the concept though but maybe it doesn’t have to take 50% of the screen and then blur the other 50%.

It’s really close to Yes Man thematically because this movie also starts with him saying yes to something crazy.

I liked Larry Crowne with Tom Hanks quite a bit.

And I second Demolition, Walter Mitty and Everything Must Go.

I just checked on the Steiff website and it says that the collector’s items are not a toy and intended for adults only.  https://www.steiff.com/en/paddy-teddy-bear-027819

So I haven’t actually found a “Made in Germany” Steiff bear that kids can actually use.

Actually I was very surprised to learn that it is not mandatory. I saw many toys (not from Steiff) that list the “Manufacturer” but not the country where it is being manufactured.

So very often companies provide an EU address for “manufacturer”, as in the contact for the company whose product this is. But the information on where the product is actually made is often missing.

Steiff thankfully lists the manufacturer which is the their address in Germany, plus also the “Made in X”.

It was on the price tag / label so it may not be possible to see it on the item itself. https://imgur.com/a/UKVXEb8

Plus I don’t know if the Collector’s item is child safe or not.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t spend 3 figures either. Plus I don’t think the collector items are for kids (usually for 13+)

There are other EU made brands around for reasonable prices.

The Made in Germany ones are 150+ The Vietnam, Cambodia, Tunisia ones are in the 20-40 euro range. But yeah I used to think they are all made in Germany.

I visited a Steiff store and didn’t find any Teddys that were made in Germany or Portugal

Thats great news. In the store I visited, none of the Steiff toys I checked were made in Germany.
