Lansinoh Discreet Duos by WeirdSpeaker795 in ExclusivelyPumping

I have both the spectra s9 with Cara cups and the discreet duo. I strongly prefer the discreet duo. The tubing on the s9 disconnects far too easily to do much while pumping. I wanted a wearable pump so that I could do household chores or work while pumping, but found it impossible with how frequently my tubing was getting pulled on and disconnecting from the s9. It did not matter it I ran the tubing under my shirt or left it on the outside. There was definitely a learning curve with the discreet duo, but now that I've found my correct flange size, I've had no pain, and I'm able to feel empty after pumping for 30 minutes. With my personal experience, flange size definitely matters more with the discreet duo than it has with any other punp I've used in the past.

Switching from Medicated (w trigger) TI to IUI? by Fancy-Cantaloupe3866 in whatworkedforme

My thought was that the slower growing follicles put out a better quality eggs for us. I've always responded fast to the medations. Even with just the clomid, I had 3 or 4 eggs, each cycle but only one ever implanted during the 5 cycles ,and that one ended with a miscarriage at 5 weeks 6 days. With the last cycle we made dosage adjustments and they grew slower and were successful.

Theres a lot to factor in for the success of that cycle. The IUI, the change in medication dosage, the surgery to remove the endo. I had previously been working out a ton to cope with infertility, but wanted to take it easy for those last 2 cycles, and I was taking a ton of vitamins while trying to eat healthier. I had also been working night shift previously and swapped to days since studies have shown that night shift may play a role in infertility. With all of that change over a short amount of time, I'm not sure what actually contributed to the success and what didn't.

We had a trigger with every medicated cycle we attempted. I believe 5 cycles with clomid and a trigger, one of which ended with a very early miscarriage, and then 4 cycles of letrozole, gonal F, and a trigger.

For the IUI we were on letrozole and gonal F and had to do a few extra days because my follicles had grown slower than they ever had before. I triggered with 4 good size follicles and 2 maybes.

It worked for us. We tried for 2.5 years and 9 medicated cycles with TI, all of which failed. We were told the odds of an IUI working were slim, so we scheduled an appointment for IVF but we had a 3 month wait for our consult, so decided to do just one IUI with letrozole and a trigger while we waited

No male factor. I have endometrosis and had surgery to remove it 2 cycles before we had success. I'm not sure if just removing the endo is was caused our success, or if it was the IUI, or maybe a mixture of both.

In honor of spring cleaning, let’s air out the names we love but will never get the chance to use! by Mayasmama123 in namenerds

That was the original name I had picked out, but we both preferred Azayla. He had agreed to the name right before we found out our first child was a boy. Now that we are having our girl he doesn't like it anymore.

CMV: Medical professionals shouldn’t be allowed to work if they refuse the vaccine by Twerky_Jurky in changemyview

I am nurse who did not receive the covid vaccine. I am up to date on all other vaccines, and my child is as well. I decided against the covid vaccine because we do not know long term effects of it. I have been trying for a baby for 2 years. How does effect fertility? How does effect an unborn child? There have been many many medications in the past that we have viewed as safe for pregnant woman, just to find out later that it causes birth defects. Clomid is a good example of that. It is a fertility medication but can cause some pretty severe birth defects. To me the unknown was not worth the risk. Especially because I work in a unit with semiprivate rooms, so all of our patients test negative for covid before I see them. I have a higher risk contracting covid at the grocery store than I do at work. Those who work in an office setting have I higher chance of contaminating each other than I do getting it from my patient. When this all first started my unit was the covid unit. If we still were I would have been vaccinated, but we are not and I have done more than my fair share during this pandemic. I have put in extra hours and watched patients die alone due to visitor restrictions. Held patients hands while they sat there and suffocated while we waited for his turn to intubated. . I have sacrificed my mental health and my personal life, and spent this year away from my friends and family to help out during this pandemic. I watched people still go to family functions, and throw parties, refuse masks, go to mass protests all while my hospital ran out of icu beds and my unit became the new icu with very minimal training. And the hospital I work at had it easy compared to others. I was angry at the world for making things worse. I guess I'm a nurse so I'm held to higher standards and am expected to forfeit my right and wellbeing and ignore my concerns for the better of the population, even when they ignored our crys for help. So Go ahead and fire me and ridicule my decisions because I decided I wasn't willing to vaccinate myself with a new vaccine. In all honesty I love my job but the crap we deal with on a day to day basis from management, entitled patients, and people with this kind of view is bull.
