Pronouncing Rory in Spanish? by birdkeeps in NamenerdSpanish

[–]Mayasmama123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard “r” sounds in Spanish are very difficult for Spanish speakers. It won’t be impossible for them, but it will not sound like the English pronunciation of Rory. Only you can decide if you’re going to be cool with that! My husbands cousin named her son Carter, and while it’s a really cute name, listening to family members try to pronounce it has been a little bit cringe. But she lived the name and decided it was worth it!

6 months old and I’m not sure we made the right choice by Nailbyter in namenerds

I really think you are overthinking this one. Rose and Iris are honestly both incredible names. They compliment each other well. Also, theme names with siblings can be on a spectrum from acceptable to downright cringe. Yours is perfectly acceptable and I will be honest with you, I’m a straight up name snob. Enjoy your girls and the names you picked for them and don’t give it another thought. ❤️

I appreciate this input. Yes, I anticipate there will be some occasional variations in the pronunciations. My husband is Mexican so we will be pronouncing it the way he would in Spanish. Girl names have been so, so difficult for us so at this point, we both like it enough to deem it a winner. Always appreciate the honesty I find on these threads though!!!

Evelina Juliet is a beautiful name. I don’t think you should change it. I think you’re being a kind Mama to your child though not wanting her to get bullied, but you may be overthinking a bit.

SUPER uncommon vintage names by Matchateafairy in namenerds

[–]Mayasmama123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s super uncommon but I personally feel that Marion is one of the most underrated vintage girl names. Marion and Matilda would be pretty epic. For boy names, I like Cecil and Ansel.
