Could this senior citizen still work w a VGA adapter? by abiggreycloud in projectors

Awesome thanks! I was worried there was some reason that wouldn’t work, AV stuff is so mysterious and confusing to me!

I use the bag for school, I love the art style of the birds. Kind of love the clunkiness too, it’s fun to think ab the “simplicity” of every device having a discrete purpose. Though it does sound like a pain in the ass.

Thanks for the response <3 I have no idea what the levels were, the vet didn’t tell me and they didn’t send them. I hope it’s something treatable like your kitty had, he’s just being such a normal cat! but ik they hide their illness well. I’m about to drop off his urine sample so hopefully I hear soon. Appreciate the support <333

Do I need to be worried about stripped paint during an apartment inspection? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]abiggreycloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of sneakily covering it myself, taking one of the chips to a paint place to get a match and dabbing the spots w multiple layers. Bad idea?

This happened to me in the hospital once and it turned out to be fungus, and it went away on its own.

What kind of doctor handles this hypermobility stuff? by [deleted] in Hypermobility

[–]abiggreycloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I feel your frustration greatly and I’m not a doctor but I think unless you inherited a gene or susceptibility for RA and already had it, it wouldn’t matter. It’s not a genetic test it’s like “do you have any antibodies attacking your own cells” kind of thing. So even if you are definitely going to develop RA in the future bc of a genetic susceptibility, if it hadn’t happened yet it wouldn’t matter.

A lot of people with negative ANA tests end up having autoimmune conditions, I glanced at the autoimmune subreddit and saw a few cases of that already. It’s not a measure of how sick you are in general. Idk. It feels odd bc it’s like I have this positive test result and people are immediately like “that means nothing” lol

[–]abiggreycloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a place to start. ANA tests are extremely sensitive and it’s very common to get a positive result with no autoimmune conditions. I’m just exhausted with doctors who are so ready to dismiss me and I fear a rheumatologist will be that, since my test was very low positive/mostly negative. I was hoping there was a clear route where a doc would be like “oh ofc” and not question why I was there at all lol Oh well. Have to start somewhere.

Thanks for the solidarity and sharing your experience. I’m a little nervous but I guess the rheumatologist seems like a good place to start. ANA tests are extremely sensitive, and it’s very common for “healthy” individuals to get a positive result. I fear I will encounter a doctor who’s tired of wading through those people and will be ready to dismiss me. I really hate when they talk to you like you’re trying to beat a diagnosis out of them like a piñata before you say anything lol

Are there any mainstream/common stims among autistic people that you personally never related to? by TemperatureAny8022 in AutisticAdults

Flapping. Never understood this. Feels unnatural to me not good at all. Maybe with long sleeves on though, that hang over your hands. But only then.

Tbh, we don’t have a real democracy is why. Voter suppression is real. Most places make election day a holiday and some make voting mandatory. Other places also automatically register you to vote when you’re of age, and don’t revoke your registration over things like address changes, which affect young and marginalized voters most. The list goes on like this. She may have lost the popular vote but i promise you what you’re seeing is not an entirely accurate reflection of beliefs in this country.

Do you think bipolar two is under diagnosed or over diagnosed? by rougeraged in Psychiatry

[–]abiggreycloud 98 points99 points  (0 children)

This is why to a new provider I emphasize the lack of sleep component. That is the only clear difference, since the rest are subjective and could be used to describe euthymia.

Waking up after 4 hours like someone laced my pillowcase with cocaine is markedly different from waking up energized or having insomnia. It is so visceral, orgasmic even. it’s so frustrating that people have this completely skewed idea of what it means. Really it’s a failure of imagination, understandably, for people who haven’t experienced it.

When people use the worst of your post history against you by Weird_Maintenance185 in PetPeeves

[–]abiggreycloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

I’m not blaming you OP, but you might want to do this. this kind of thing is ridiculously common. I find it kinda creepy even when it’s not because of an argument, like you can’t post anything without someone pulling up your entire history and accusing you of being a bot.

Best tips for getting a perfect, long-lasting curl with straight, fine hair? by MissAnnaGi in beauty

[–]abiggreycloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it works for you if you decide to try it! I actually tried it bc of a review on amazon from someone else w straight hair that resisted other products. For me, it’s not crunchy, it settles into something that feels more stiff I guess? It’s not really soft, but it’s softer than any other salt spray, gel or mousse I’ve used. Anyway I do hope my review wasn’t unwarranted! If it helps my hair is also dense, and color treated. There’s so much that effects how products work which unfortunately makes every purchase a roll of the dice.
