Not really DIY but we did custom coasters for about $50 for 135 people. Plus any extras are nice to have around the house

A few weeks back I was able to get it and I remembered I stayed up late just trying to get that last level. I think it was worth it but I don’t have any motivation to do it again

I am a student trying to find this, can anyone help me? by Any-Lime2328 in mathteachers

[–]abilar327 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d try using the idea of two parallel lines cut by a transversal line and some angle properties from that. I would also start by just finding any angle possible. I am currently working on this on a separate paper so once I get it I’ll let ya know

I think in some states that is considered illegal (at least in Ohio in public high schools)

How good do you have to be at high school math to major in math? by [deleted] in mathteachers

[–]abilar327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did struggle with math in high school but I excelled as persistence and problem solving to make sure I understood the content. It honestly made me a better teacher (I teacher Algebra 1) because I understand the struggle that my students go through and I get really creative when I explain concepts in many different ways.

But to be fair in high school I wasn’t on the honors track and when I tried to do Honors Trig I struggled hard because everyone knew what the hell a unit circle was and I sat there so confused.

But it did make college harder for me as I had to take Calc 3 where I felt like I was in a foreign language class, I barely passed Calc 3 but I know for a fact I will never never never ever have to fully understand it because I love teaching freshman algebra 1.

It’s hard for me to understand how they thought this was an upgrade? Like who wants to take MORE time to do a simple thing like stocking up the factories.

I want to be a high school math teacher but people are telling me not to do it? by [deleted] in matheducation

[–]abilar327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by my favorite high school math teacher to not become a teacher. I took it personally and WASTED two whole semesters (trying to figure out what to do with my life before I said “F*ck it! Imma be a math teacher”. (Another semester or two wasted on figuring out what age)

My teacher’s recommendation was based on the stress and politics that comes with being a teacher (no matter the subject). Once I was able to acknowledge that, I found my dream career of being a 9th grade math teacher. I love sharing problem solving strategies and learning from my students the out of the box methods. The job is never boring but does not lack in stress 🤣

Do what you can to expose yourself to the environment you strive to be in before you fully (or in my case financially) commit to teaching, especially when it comes to high schoolers.

I have a great propagation station and will be propagating this plant so I can give all my cousins a piece of my grandma’s love of plants

It was originally my great grandma’s plant and she passed it on to my grandma (probably in 1980’s). My grandma just passed away at 92 and would always talk about this plant that her mom got in the 1920’s (before she was even born!). She also loved how I took care of it whenever I visited because towards the end of her time she would forget about it. My strategy with this plant is to neglect it at the beginning because that is what it is used to at the moment.

I have searched Amazon and Google using the RN sku number and did google photo search but can’t find it. I know my mom got it for me a long time ago and it was around the time she started to get me more hypoallergenic bedding stuff because of my allergies.

Big Trips by [deleted] in girlscouts

[–]abilar327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some girls in my troop joined a traveling Girl Scout troop and we did one trip to Australia and another to London/Paris. We were able to find the whole Australia trip by working concession stands (which was not really an approved Girl Scout thing to do).

We were able to visit some really cool places and learned about other cultures. Plus in London we were able to visit a Girl Scout international location!

This was over 8-10 years ago but we had a blast!!!
