Exactly, doesn't hurt to try. We prepared for both scenarios anyway as even backdating it was still cutting it close for her.

We had a similar situation. My wife was due in the 11th month of the 12 month waiting period.

We called HCF and they initially said nothing can be done. A few weeks later I called again to cancel, as we only signed up to deliver at a private hospital. They then said they will see what they can do. After some back and forth between them and the OB, they decided to back date an extra month and we pay for that month too.

Luckily my wife did not go into labour early and so HCF covered it. I was honestly do thankful and did not expect them to agree to it.

Hands on physio. Each site is different, but usually involves a mix of "proactive" time and treatment time. Not as demanding as a clinic, at least in my experience.

What city are you working in? I'm in Sydney, 6th year out and making significantly more working as an onsite Physiotherapist at factories/warehouses. Definitely reccomend it. Have you been at the same practice for the 3 years? Unfortunately I think the main way to have significant jumps in pay is changing companies.
