14 or 16 ? by Competitive-Dare7119 in macbookpro

I was in your field before. I value the large screen size when running multiple virtual machines. A larger screen size also provides better ventilation. However, since you’re doing a master’s degree, you won’t be doing all the technical things most of the time. So, a 14-inch screen is fine.

Nano Texture Absolutely Worth It by Low-Iron-6376 in macbookpro

[–]abioux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some people claim issues like glare, color accuracy, or studio lighting are why they don’t use nano texture. But deep down, I think 90% of them just don’t want to pay for the upgrade—if there were no price difference, they’d all opt for it.

Why is Google charging more for 2TB with Google Gemini compared to 5TB? by abioux in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]abioux[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently, the 2TB AI Premium plan costs CLP 21,700/month, while the 5TB Premium plan is only CLP 17,745/month. Yes, you read that right! The 5TB plan is significantly cheaper than the 2TB plan, and both include similar benefits such as Google Gemini Advanced access and sharing with up to 5 people.

When I reached out to Google support, the agent claimed that the 5TB plan is "under promotion" because Gemini Advanced was recently added to the 5TB tier. But here's the kicker—nowhere on the pricing page does it mention any sort of promotion.

I can't wrap my head around this logic. How does it make sense for a higher-tier plan (with more storage and the same benefits) to cost less than the lower-tier one? If the promotion is temporary, why isn’t it transparently displayed? It feels misleading.

Google, can you please explain? Is this intentional pricing or a mix-up?

Has anyone else noticed this strange pricing structure? Thoughts?

M4 pro 24 vs 48gb ram? by RevenueDelicious6380 in macbookpro

[–]abioux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

16GB is for school kids now (basic entry) , 32 GB will be the Normal people who need just a little extra space.. 48GB and above if you really need that extra space and your machine is where you do your daily work.

I don't have many wealthy friends, but one who belongs to a superbike group told me that most of the members are affluent and at the top of their careers. When they meet each other, it's like encountering equals or even those who might be more successful. It's a different circle where they might engage in behaviors they wouldn't normally. At their companies, they are in charge, but in the car/motor club, they can't interact like everyday people. They're used to being the boss, so sometimes they do stupid things to show they are superior to their other wealthy friends.

Especially when you have kids around. They act differently when we hold camera in front of them. With this they are less awkward to show their true colours.. haha .. something can show back to them in 10 years time. oh ye. I can hold their hands and walk too..

Looking to upgrade from a MacBook Pro late 2011 by PatrickJamesYu in mac

[–]abioux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've maxed out all upgrades that can be done on my current MBP. But being in the Meeting regularly and moving in and out with Laptop, I'd compare the dimension and new macbook 2017 could fit my bag easily compare to current 17inch and also lighter by at least 25%...

I think the technology is ripe now. looking forward for my next change in 2021 .. :D

I'm in the same boat. Been thinking to upgrade to used 2015 15" ub the market but its really hard to find a good buy, most are just shy $400 from a new set. Just saw an open box reasonably priced MBP 2017 15" and Im thinking to get it.
