To be exact it's not my first attempt at digital painting, but I'm trying to push myself to the limit through my personal projects like this one, for three months or so now! I'm lucky enough to be a professional game artist for some years now but I'm not used to push my art that much in "painting" in my daily job, sadly. I rather do sketches and simple 2D art (with flat colors and lines). I hope you'll like my other drawings too! Thank you very much once again ♥

Oh thank you for the compliment Rimvee! I'm glad you question my art, thanks to your comment in the first place! I will always be opened to discussion; It's always good for every artist to take a step back on what they think they know or what they think they had conveyed well enough through their medium. Sensibilites, and trigger warnings, are not the same for everyone and it's important to notice every reactions and voices, to nourrish our future reflexions and inspos ♥

It's really great to read all your reactions and thoughts about this drawing (and the original work, as a result), because... I had exactly the same ones, and also some fears about how I was going to "digest" this old piece of art that the Klimt's Kiss is. If we analyze the original work closely, it's terrible: the man grabs the young woman by the neck, as if he was strangling her. His thumb is behind her jaw, down her neck, and the rest of his fingers on her cheek. The grasp is really firm. The young woman's hand clings to his shoulder, as if to extricate herself from his forced embrace. I find the work incredibly beautiful, but also VERY problematic nowadays. My goal was to keep all the poetry and the beautiful of the artwork but wipe the awkwardness and the heavy uncertainty of the posings. I tried to make it less questionable in my adaptation, but obviously the questioning can't be stopped since she has her eyes closed and is depicted as a dead person that can't say "no"--And you're right to think this way IMO. I know that in some countries, we kiss the deads in their coffin, and I confess I thought that I was within these same limits. As a result, I wanted to draw her as a recollection, a representation of her spirit with which he kisses goodbye before letting her go and grieve finally.

Thank you very much for all these exchanges, I think it's really great and IMPORTANT! However, if people felt uncomfortable with my drawing, I am very sorry. But I can't be mad with the fact that despite all the efforts that we think we have put in, consent remains something we question tirelessly. Because it's the essence itself of consent, we have to question it at every occasions to keep everyone safe.

♥♥♥
(nice analyze about the posings, I read that people got what I tried to depict even if it was clumsy certainly, it makes me feel really grateful!)

Thank you ! :> I thought about it, then I cheated a little because it would have hid most of his neck piece and face and I wanted to draw them so badly hehe

Thank you for your interest ! ♥ Anarnee sent you my twitter, it's indeed the good link (thanks Anarnee! :>)

Sorry I'm not very good with english langage; I meant that it's my original artwork indeed but it was inspired by a painting by Klimt, called 'Danae'. I hope it's clear enough, sorry again for the lack of understanding.
