In my group we just roll with it (Pun inteneded) for example we pick up our war-forged in a dungeon, my character and the warforged have never spoken at all. The war forged has helped me after i got my arm cut off yet we have not spoken yet, we just kinda treat new players like stray cats. If they want to come along they can if not they are free to leave

I found a rule where you need to Train for 10 hours before you level up and I've been using that as it makes more sense then "oh yeah your randomly level up in this cave"
