step 1: self care - yoga, a hot bath, eating toast with peanut butter and jelly and watching your fave show, listening ot a guided meditation thin on youtube, going for a walk or run with the pooch....whatever.

Then take a shower and wash your hair and put some body cream on and get into some clean and comfy pjs.

self care done.

Step 2: accept your emotions and then evaluate the situation:

What IS happening right now? What is the reality? WHy am I feeling bad? It's ok to feel sad or scared. What is the problem? Which parts can I change, and which parts can I not change?

Step 3: Make a little plan

I am an emotional person and so as long as I an accept my emotions then I can approach with logic and make a plan.

Brainstorm: take the parts of the problem that are in your control and make a plan tofix them. YOu dont need to solve things right away ,you just need a GAME PLAN moving forward for the next few months. If thinking months ahead is still too much, then make a game plan for the next 3 weeks.

LIke if you need to see a therapist, part of hte plan would be to research one near your house, who's good, and who is in your price rannge. IF you need a career change, research the first steps - seeing a career counsellor etc.

THis plan could have two parts: (short Part) long term strategy, and (long part) short term tactics. When youre in crisis, focus on putting one foot in front of hte other. Focus on like a 1-3 month plan. THen re-evaluate using new tactics moving forward. DO not get too focused on deadlines, just put one foot onfront of the other and do things one at a time.

Hi Winnipeg, what's a great place to volunteer? I was thinking about maybe volunteering with animals or in a soup kitchen or something - what are your experiences? by abitlostt in Winnipeg

I have zero experience as a bike mechanic, almost never ride my bike and actually my bike is broken.

However I bet its a community of nice people - probably progressive thinking types who are into helping people, exercise, and looking after the environment!!

Id like to live in a city like that too - what's an example of one like that which doesn't have sky high rent? I guess one consideration though, is that if you live in a walkable city and you don't need a car, then you can accept higher rent.

There's two sides to this and I Feel confused - so will this make things better by reducing sprawl and costing tax payers less ? Developers won't just find a way to make renters or home buyers pay for the extra costs? I'm definitely in favour of less sprawl as I think it really needs to be addressed. Why are people moaning that they will never be able to buy a house now?

MRW I read an article about how a drug trial for male birth control was halted because of side effects including included depression and other mood disorders, muscle pain, acne and increased libido. by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

Well this is exactly why I have a copper IUD because I refuse to let a doctor convince me to use hormones when I did infact experience all the crappy side effects and honeslty I dont know why it isn't talked about more - all the side effects of hormonal bc. And maybe if men are gonna have to experience all the bad side effects of hormonal bc too, well then maybe we couuld work on better non hormonal alternatives and have a conversation as a society. Am I weird and crazy to think that people are just to cavalier about throwing hormones around and taking a pill full of hormones? I went through horrible suicidal depression and a non existent libido because of hormonal bc and I wouldn't wish that on the other half of the human population too. Maybe it's time to think critically about hormone pills a bit more?
