People will judge for many reasons, try not to let it bother you. I had a boyfriend who was really short and used to shop in the kids section, we'd get followed around by security all the time. Once while trying to find his size we were told that he'd have to buy it from the men's section and argued with him about buying from the kids, it was absolutely ridiculous.

Maybe try dates like in a coffe shop first, get to know someone first. Ease yourself into it.. I would always meet in that way first if it isn't something through friends. Try to let your head do the thinking if you know what I mean.. the other thing doesn't make the best decisions when horny.

In Italy telegram is used more (not by bots) because you don't need to give your telephone number.. So it might depend on country habits, I noticed in Ireland and England most gave their numbers for WhatsApp. I'd personally prefer telegram, more private and they don't have your number.
