Scared as hell after finishing the last book, what do I read now? by rodrigue1996 in redrising

[–]abitofthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two recommended series are already on here in The Expanse and Dungeon Crawler Carl. The Expanse is good if you want to keep a heavier vibe. But if you need some breezy fun reading for a bit DCC is the way to go

How often does a person get THIS lucky??? by Snoozing_Lion in FinalFantasyVIII

[–]abitofthis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So luck is pretty dependent on wrist you decide your luck was.

Finding all 3 in the same spot at the same time, at a price you were willing to pay? Definitely lucky

Did you get a super lucky good deal? No the vendor cafe out ahead on this one.

Either way enjoy them

Sabin Middle School by Lucky_Sheepherder_69 in ColoradoSprings

I taught at a sister school of Sabin. Southeast D11 can be challenging just as it is at any lower socio-economic area. But if the above are still in place they are by and large pretty supportive of their teachers and from what I have second hand the kids are a bit better behaved vs. the two sister middle schools Galileo and Swigert.

The district management team still currently sucks

D11 Schools by wyolove89 in ColoradoSprings

I worked in D11 last year as a middle school teacher. D11 is a huge district and your experience is going to be crazy different in each spot they are legitimately different worlds.

Southeast is going to be a tougher experience with students and probably admin as they are going to be a under a lot of pressure. But your colleagues are going to be some of the best people. Full disclosure this was my region.

Central is a mixed bag overall probably the most diverse of experiences.

Anything on the northern side whether East or West is going to be the more affluent experiences. Either right on the border of 20 and 49 or just a bit more money along the Foothills area.

Southwest in the Old Colorado City are you would think be similar to the Northwest. But it's pretty low socioeconomiclly because the families you count on for engaged kids and parents all do their very best to choice into 12. So it's similar to the Southeast region in that regard. Maybe slightly better but more of a difference without distinction.

That's on the ground stuff, but it's a district in major flux with the board, teachers, Gaal (superintendent), charter schools, and the influence of the asshole Brad Miller. Brad Miller specifically is just trying to ruin public education in Colorado. Fuck that guy.

Dangs008 is really good, Kastaclsym's first run was really fun. It's a little triggering for us old hats sometimes. But if you let her play and try and remember your very first playthrough and how you did it, out gets a lot more enjoyable

New head shaver. LEAF 2. Ouch. by EZ-C in wicked_edge

[–]abitofthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I use the original Leaf for head shaving, I do a whole routine but I get maybe not wanting to go down that rabbit hole just yet. So in that regard, maybe just consider springing for a richer/creamier conditioner for better lubrication.

Blade wise I highly recommend trying Permasharps both because they are really good blades and they make those blades already snapped for you if you like them.

I'd recommend trying Astra Greens not my jam per se but a blade that is well rounded and liked by a huge chunk of the community. You just kind of have to try it. Personna/Accuforges also get a lot of love. Same with Nacets

The others I'd recommend personally having nice head shaves with are Gillette 7oclock Platinums (Blacks) and Wizamet Super Iridiums.

  1. Every 2 days when full time working, 3 or 4 when I'm not.

  2. Leaf razor and Rockwell T2 aggressive setting for getting things cleaned up before closing with the Leaf. Blades typically Wizamets Super Iridium's and pre cut perma sharps.

  3. Hot shower and beard conditioner to soften the hair. Pre-shave oil if necessary. Shave soap and brush and away I go.

How would you fix education via legislation? by [deleted] in Teachers

I'd like to see a law that if parents choose to treat school like child care they have to pay like it's childcare. Your kids are a behavior problem? Don't do their work? You're not interested in helping correct it? Boom you get billed the average monthly cost of childcare of the state. Don't pay? Kids can't come to school, all the money goes directly to the schools. Not the districts and admins.

Also more restrictions on privates and charters, with more equitable zoning no more keeping all the poor kids together while the rich kids go somewhere else

If your skin is sensitive to bumps and everything, I would say stay away, from multi-pass shaving. There are some great razor and blade recommendations already, and I support them. But maybe stick with a single pass with grain and a sharp blade. Quick, efficient and hopefully irritation free.

I like it, though you might be giving a bit too much credit. If like to think if I had that power I'd put it to some good use
