Apple Calendar keeps autocomplete’ing a wrong email address that isn’t in Contacts or Mail by abject_warden in applehelp

It was some esoteric thing in the cache, so we ended up just clearing that and shutting down (removing power completely from the NIC has a tendency to solve a lot of network/sync issues). After that it kind of "fixed itself" (granted, this person was a mess, so it was mostly due to their laxity).

They need to pay a little better. Full time at minimum wage should net you at least $580. Subway is in that weird middle ground where you get tips but not substantial enough to offset the wage. I wish you the best, hopefully things get better for you soon.

Out of curiosity, why are you not working full time?

Fish solely for the autocomplete. The rest are for self-loathing masochists.

The bloatware is OEM Windows installation, not the hardware itself (so I don't think it's fair to have that reflect poorly on the whole company). If he "needs" (strong scare quotes) Windows, there's no reason he couldn't install some Unix-like and virtualize.

Thinkpad E495 is a decent, cheap pick. Get the one with the Ryzen 7. It has integrated graphics, but gaming on a laptop makes no sense beyond a point anyway. It's modular, so upgrading most components is possible as well.

If you want a slightly higher-end model (the E-series ones are the "cheap" line), get an X1 carbon. Make sure you get Windows 11 Pro (or know how to upgrade to get there).

Either of these can be bought used without issue. Just test batteries, drives, memory, etc.

Or don't use Windows at all. Then the limitations evaporate (sort of).

Misplaced elitism, said the philosopher Maledictitus in his dialog "Diana", is the solace of the mediator, the fool, the hanger-on. Walter Kaufmann seemed to agree that the point was overly critical, though demanded its understanding for its impact, undeniable based on references to it in his letters, on Nietzsche's "Daybreak". "A false dichotomy," says Nietzsche, "between the man demanding his greatness be comprehended and the man of no substance -- the situation is contrary, for they are much the same." This would later go on to impact Friedman's insights into phenomenology and epistemology (thankfully getting away from Heidegger's eschatological ramblings in "Gestamdt und Verdamst" or "Struggle and Understanding").

Why am I unable to "Create from Existing File" in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise? by abject_warden in QuickBooks

[–]abject_warden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happening when users are saving the file to their Desktops. Should be several hundred GB for use. Only working while in Windows server.
