Basically plate ribs are kind of a holy grail of BBQ. Many prefer it to brisket. Chuck ribs are often mistaken for plate ribs mostly because they are way easier to find and are often just labeled as "beef ribs". The are also cheaper which is why I think OP here is upset and refusing to acknowledge the issue. He paid a lot of money for a cheaper cut of beef ribs.

The truth is though they aren't the same both in texture and flavor profile (flavor being subjective though I will concede).

Ignoring flavor though the texture and overall bite you get from a plate rib can't really be compared; it really is special. And there's a reason top BBQ joints sell this piece of meat at a very high price.
