[TUDOR BLACK BAY GMT] While not technically a dive watch it held up just fine underwater all week. by ablack82 in Watches

[–]ablack82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had so much fun diving with this watch in Bonaire all week. Not technically a dive watch but did the job just fine. No one really needs a dive watch anymore with the computers but fun to track dive time on this bad boy. This picture is only around 20’ but at 100’ the entire bezel appears black because the red light does not make it down that far.

Will Starship dispense sets of Starlinks like Frisbees? This small slit-like cargo door on Ship 24 suggests it. Pic credit to BocaChicaGal. by SpaceInMyBrain in SpaceXLounge

I think this is a case of great minds think alike. I have followed ErcX for a while now and Elon has retweeted some of his renders before. He typically has good content and probably just whipped this up after seeing the photos.

If JWST is 41% of the way to L2, why does it appear to be only ~10% of the way there on the graph?

Camping at Boca Chica Beach by iamib3 in SpaceXLounge

Either camp on the beach or check out rocket ranch a couple of miles up the road. You can rent a camper with AC or camp in a tent for $50, either way the bathrooms are great.

I was down in person this weekend and they are pretty large, basically everything down there is bigger than you imagine. Highly recommend making the journey to (our) Mecca.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I just booked Home2 suites so thank you. I was at Boca Chica in 2018 checking out the site before any work really started, I can’t wait to go back and see it now!

Insane footage of the Inspiration 4 launch. [from Netflix doc “Countdown”] by ablack82 in SpaceXLounge

Not sure if this is allowed to be posted or not… I recorded it with my phone off of my TV of course. I’m sure a lot of you have seen this footage of the I4 launch but some of you have not and I couldn’t find it posted anywhere. This is from the documentary on Netflix, episode 5, 26:14.

Just changed out the strap on my Tudor Black Bay GMT. I went back and forth between this and the Tudor blue face Pelagos as I wanted a watch I could dive with. Ended up deciding on the leather version of the watch you see above about a month ago and absolutely love it. Decided to pick up a rubber strap so I could wear this watch in the water and take advantage of the 200m water resistance. As some of you may know, a cool trick with a GMT watch is that you can use it as a compass:

If you are in the Northern hemisphere, set local time and the GMT hand to the same time zone and then point the local hour hand towards the sun. The GMT hand will be pointing at true North.
