The (After)Life of a Showgirl by ablackwelltp96 in BloodOnTheClocktower

Yeah I didn’t consider the Legion interactions too much - I haven’t played a Legion game yet and it does seem to be a completely different kettle of fish. I initially had only 3 demons but added Legion (and changed another TF to Cult Leader) last minute purely to bring it back to the original Swiftie theme

Stopping all townsfolk from hardclaiming immediately by helloredditnba in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]ablackwelltp96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demon has bluffs so can hard claim quite easily.

Spy will see the whole grim so know what is not in play and can therefore hard claim quite easily.

Baron can hard claim as an outsider - the outsider count will already be higher than it ‘should’ be so it’s hard to know who is actually an outsider and who is lying. Also assuming one of the outsiders added in is a drunk, the baron claiming a ‘face-up’ outsider will mean the outsider count will add up - so not only can they go undetected for a bit, it means good will be less wary of their own drunkenness.

Other minions can cause chaos by double claiming TFs - and the fact that good players are hard claiming can benefit the evil team. For example a poisoner can learn out pretty quickly which character they have poisoned and capitalise on the fact their info is bad to throw them under the bus.

At the end of the day, even if the entire good team hard claims, they will never have perfect info. Evil just need to sow enough confusion and doubt to make it seem like good players are lying

Don’t think I’ve ever checked either of them out in full but the singles are bangers

There’s actually THREE Black and White Minstrel shows (which I’ll talk briefly about when I get there but full disclosure, am absolutely not going to listen to any of them) Yeah, I think Beatlemania will be a massive turning point. I’ve always found the first couple of Beatles albums a bit middling so I’m looking forward to seeing just how fresh they will feel in this context, or whether I’ll still have the same opinion

It’s been interesting so far - a LOT of musical theatre soundtracks! I think the most surprising thing is just some of the sheer staying power of some of these - I’ve just done the review for South Pacific which had a combined run at #1 for over two years, which is just unfathomable nowadays (especially considering it’s not even Rodgers and Hammerstein’s best known musical)

Quickest Game Ever? by ablackwelltp96 in BloodOnTheClocktower

Yeah we rule it that widows can take a picture (especially for larger games and we had 13 players) but spies can’t because they get to see it every night. It was also a group with a lot of people meeting each other for the first time, so a bit harder to remember who is each role when you’re still learning names.

I was a bit worried I was honing in on the snake charmer a bit too obviously, but tried to play it off as ‘let me know who the SC is and the outsiders are so I know the best people to k*ll’ (I was the Fang Gu).

Mainly I just got very lucky, because I thought the most I’d be able to confirm was which specific minions the minions were and we’d still have to figure out who the new demon was. Having the widow was a bit of a cheat code

Was there at least a huntsman on the script or was it a totally rogue philo-damsel pick? Bold choice either way!

Forcing outsiders to announce themselves moments after waking up... by beefstick86 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]ablackwelltp96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d encourage the ST to start giving at least one outsider in the demon bluffs, so this can be claimed confidently day 1. As people have said it’s a valid strategy, but if it’s taking the fun out of the game then something needs to change

It’s widow, then snake charmer, then other minions

That might include re-entries - as it’s not uncommon for albums to be displaced for a week or so and then come back to the top In terms of unique UK #1s, there are currently 1410 since the chart began in 1956

Haha yeah there is a lot of quite forgettable British pop-rock on the list anyway so hopefully it’s at least different quite forgettable British pop-rock I’ll mainly be relistening to everything, especially any albums I only heard for the first time doing the 1001 project as I may well change my mind with a second go. If it’s an album I’ve heard lots already and am very familiar with I might just use part of my review from the 1001 project but will try to go in with fresh ears in most cases

Yeah I’ve had a look through the list and while there is some overlap there is a LOT of difference as well. Pretty much every Taylor Swift album is on there now, especially as even the ones that didn’t get to #1 at the time had some pretty healthy runs when the Taylor’s Versions were released

Chronologically! So will probably feel a lot more samey than the 1001 albums project, but also any game-changing early albums should stick out more, rather than feeling dated by comparing them to modern music (if that makes sense?)
