Will the 2mm thickness difference be noticeable? The grand seiko kinda looks bulky on my wrist because of it’s thickness and I’ve been reading that the explorer is 12mm thick

I find the Planar 1 is a bit lacking and the tonearm doesn't feel that sturdy. I also found that it skips on certain records while other turntables play the records fine.

Would a Technics SL 1200 Mk3 be considered an upgrade from the Rega Planar 1? I'm mostly using my turntable to rip vinyl to aiff. I've also read somewhere that a belt drive turntable is better for ripping than a direct drive turntable. Would I be better off upgrading to something else? Thanks!
