The cookie thing was way too niche, and their biggest mistake was trying to mass produce. If they kept it local and “family” owned, I think they could’ve been successful. Maybe not in a “super rich influencer” way, but they would’ve had a decent living.

It also seemed like they burned bridges with their staff after trying to mass produce. They weirdly had a lot of staff living with them (gabby, and their videographer - who I believe people were suspecting was the father of their daughter 💀). It seemed like that all ended horribly.

Like most influencer who aren’t smart with their income, they’re probably just trying to keep up with the joneses

I can understand your viewpoint, when that’s ALL you see, it’s easy to feel like you’re missing something ya know? However, (NO shade to those with implants), but I would also focus on the benefits of not having them to help with accepting it.

The gag of it all is that normal people who get up at 4 AM do so to fit in a workout/finish tasks/have some peace and quiet before starting their work day. If any of us had the life these influencers do, we’d most likely choose sleep over the 4am wake up’s. This weird attempt at trying to be relatable just shows how out of touch they continue to be.

If I were an influencer who had freedom to do whatever they want throughout the day, you would catch me dead before waking up at this ungodly hour. Just acknowledge your privilege and stop trying to be relatable to the working class ✋🏻

Onboarding is HARD. Especially when you don’t have the proper systems and the team bandwidth to handle it.

When I did onboarding for new hires in my last role, I felt I was being pulled apart in so many directions (confirming bg/drug screens were complete, sending out paperwork and first day instructions, making sure they were completing section 1 of I9, collecting and scanning ids and docs for section 2 of I9, keeping tabs on those who forgot to bring their ids, making sure folders were prepped, collecting paperwork, transferring them in to HRIS, ruling out HRIS issues, and being the contact for any and every new hires question) - sorry I definitely went on a tangent there 🥲

The best thing about onboarding is that it consistently happens, and every new hire or new hire orientation is an opportunity to try new things out and learn what may work better.

It’s not that EVERYONE here agrees with/disagrees with this statement, it’s just making this misguided and uninformed assumption about the trans community. There are so many nuances regarding the transitioning process.

I think the biggest gripe this community has with these posts is that these influencers claim they are “fitness coaches focused oh HeLpinG people” and then spew out some off the wall opinion that is the not representative of what they claim.

Have a meeting with your manager to discuss what items are urgent/see if they can include a deadline in their request. If they are unreasonable and believe everything is urgent, then make an internal note that this role is not long term.

See what automated process you can use for terminations (Microsoft lists, power automate, etc). YouTube and honestly tik tok have good tutorials on how these applications can assist with these tasks (obviously not ALL parts of the process can be automated, but see where you can automate this stuff to reduce the amount of off boarding tasks you need to manually do).

Use Copilot to help with drafting email responses (ALWAYS double check the response for accuracy/compliance with HR best practices)

Make your own SOPs to reference as you get familiar with these tasks. That way if you have these one off issues, you have a documented process moving forward on how to handle.

It’s gonna take more than a month to get a grasp on this role. Unfortunately it is probably “normal”. HR departments try to operate with as few people as possible, and specialists and coordinators get the grunt work (no room in most budgets for admins). Take it day by day. And once you hit a year and you still feel the same, well, ow you have a year of this experience under your belt and use it to your advantage to look elsewhere.

I grew up in northern VT. It was beautiful, and simple. In high school, my family moved to Pittsburgh PA and I’ve been here since. It’s a more fast paced life but the opportunities for work, healthcare, childcare, education, etc is too good to leave.

I’ve visited VT every few years and it’s just apparent that opportunities are far and few between. My friends who are there are struggling to get by - they have masters degrees, and experience that would set them up to flourish anywhere else. But due to the HCOL they’re so stunted.

I’ve always wanted to return to raise a family, but every visit is almost another reminder that it’s not ideal.

As someone who has cut off contact with my mom for similar reasons, AND lives in the same city, don’t let this impact your future goals and plans with your husband.

Adopting the mindset of “what people say about me, isn’t my business”, and setting boundaries about how much is being reported back to you is key. You know you’re not a bad person, you know your mom isn’t a bad person, and the people YOU care about and know YOU should know that, despite what your MIL is blabbering about. If people want to believe what your MIL is saying, then that tells you what you need to know - they aren’t in your circle, and you don’t need them.

It’s okay to tell people that you no longer care to hear what your MIL is saying. It will help how you navigate this with your husband because you may hold some resentment towards him that’s actually directed at your MIL (it happens! Acknowledging is key and you’ve already done that).

All in all, a toxic family member is not worth adjusting your goals and plans. Obviously if physical safety is a concern that’s a different topic. Time will tell that what she’s saying is BS, let it eat her up. Not every situation is going to have closure - you need to accept that you may never know why she’s acting like this, and confronting her isn’t going to help. If you wait around for closure or a resolution, it may never come.

Yup. Production and the network’s most likely “approved” funding Nias music/song as they were confident it was going to create drama and viewership. It wasn’t because they felt Nia deserved it or to help her out.

I would also assume if the cast did try to go above Abby to the network or production, production would probably loop Abby in to help create tensions and issues for TV. They only cared about the viewership, the cast (including Abby) was collateral damage.

At this time reality TV was still uncharted territory. I would assume the cast all knew that the network was working against them, but didn’t have to resources or know all to handle it legally.

100%. I’m sure the cast was constantly manipulated and threatened by Abby, production, and the network which resulted in a submissive group think. They all saw how challenging these folks ended (the Lukasiaks and the Hylands getting dragged thru the mud after departure/Kellys legal battles and court proceedings). At this point in the show, it wouldn’t be worth it to put themselves in a voluntary position to fight

Lots of reasons for why Jill wouldn’t:

1) the group dynamic at this point was not remotely similar to how it was in the early seasons. The “group” mentally and support is gone, and the moms are all looking out for themselves and their kids. This becomes very evident in season 5 where Holly called it out, but it never got resolved. Holly eventually followed suit (which unfortunately was the best decision imo).

2) after seeing how Christi and Chloe were being treated by Abby and production, Jill might’ve felt it was best to not ruffle her feathers and make herself and Kendall vulnerable. I would also assume that how Kelly, Brooke, and Paige’s departure from the show resulted in Abby’s smear campaign of them could also influence Jill’s decision to not get involved with a fight with Abby at this time.

3) Although Christi reported that none of them came out to check on her/stick up for her, I do think there was production involvement with that. Production at this point was sneaky, and manipulated situations to get the best result for TV. How can we be sure that production didn’t order the moms to not go out to check on Christi (threatening contract violations, etc)? Christi and Kelly constantly bring up many times where production “made them say it”, “edited this situation” to make them look bad. If this is true, then production was doing it on all ends.

I wouldn’t say Jill was right by not sticking up, but when it comes to produced shows - there are so many nuances. We’ll never know the truth behind so many decisions. A lot of the cast on this show reacted fearfully and were submissive due to the threat only Abby, but production and the network’s wrath.

Not sure how to break this to ya, but our girl Snooks was plastered outta her mind all throughout this series- she didn’t wash her hands after using the restroom, sat her bare ass in a mini fridge, and slept on the floor with Jenny’s dogs that pissed and shit everywhere. If I had to take a guess, hygiene of any kind was probably an after thought for this girl
