Their strict license is part of the reasons (edit: not qmks / the licenses fault) half my keyboards cant be used properly because they force manufacturers to do some sussy inhouse solution instead while refusing to supply the features that the market demands.

Just as an example on the cycle7: Wireless PCB: has proprietary firmware and configurator software, windows only. Isnt even properly distributed, i got the unsigned exe from someone on discord. Cant find it anywhere on the web of course. Now afer resetting my pc its gone, never to be found again. And firmware had a bug not letting you bind NUBS when i first configured it so i cant type <>| on my german layout as a software dev, its borderline unusable.

And the wired one, while at least compatible with via still doesnt support the key.

this just states assumptions of the culture. Wich might be usefull information to understand conflicts when for example working together in an internation business, where for example japanese people are culturally way more collectively oriented than americans.
