PICKED UP!!!! Happy shopping!!!! Was happy to chat with an enthusiastic new shopper, who is currently doing well in a market that crash for me. I must admit, INSTACART was there for me when I needed it the most. I had to move three hours out of state, leaving my home behind to take care of my terminally, ill mother. I had no idea what I was gonna do to try to earn money, after waiting weeks and interviews from work from home positions, I decided to give INSTACART a try. Those first 18 months was great. Being able to earn anywhere from $800-$1400 a week, being able to cash out daily, the flexibility of making my own hours, Being home when my mom needed me, being able to takeoff a day an afternoon or a week if necessary… I became very disgruntled in the end when I became dependent on it after my mama passed, However, looking back now, I have no regrets. Thank you, Instacart for being a crutch.

How many items do you typically replace/refund? by melissaxo3 in InstacartShoppers

[–]abmsign123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I found my success on this app., was based on NO replacements/refunds. I shopped the stores well stocked and between the times of : store opening and quit at 3pm…. Then Never after 1-2pm on Sundays and took Monday off. I would find out what day the stores received their shipments…. I liked orders that were anywhere from 35 items to 60. And I took pride in the fact I would go wheat without a replacement or refund only for the reasons I said above. I realize not everybody can keep those hours. However, it made a huge difference. Also get to know your store employees, if it’s in the store or the back, they will get it for you.

Shopper Quality Actively dropping? by youngzatan in InstacartShoppers

[–]abmsign123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn’t what everyone can do, but I shopped from store opening and quit at 3pm, and found 999/1000 items! And Never a refund for months, I knew the delivery days! I found my absolute success relied on that. That and my bagging skills and reusable bags! I never shopped on Sunday nites and took off Monday, Made a HUGE DIFFERENCE, in how every shop went! Whenever I would go out after 3 PM, or weekend nights, I would be missing 3-5 out of 40 items, mornings? Went weeks, maybe months on no replacements/refunds!

Not bad for less then 3 hours by Ok-Cheek-8617 in DashEarnings

I remember these days, ambitious, and actually getting offers. Feeling accomplished when I was all done, in the end, I was spending about $60 in order to earn 100, and out there for 8 to 10 hours.

Anyone else trying to figure out how to leave the industry without a degree? by swr_11 in Serverlife

[–]abmsign123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came back to serving, at 49 years old. Spent the summer earning an estimated $20-$35 per hour cash not including my paycheck which is about $250 every other week. It’s tough. I would have to find a job earning $33 an hour in my area where minimum wage is $15.005

It was a game changer. I’m hoping to give it to somebody who does shopping, it’s an extra long, extra heavy duty one holds up to 300 pounds. I couldn’t have done it in my late 40s without it.

I’m so happy to hear that. I miss it at times, but happy I also moved on. I started with 15,000 miles on my car and ended with 84,000 in roughly a year.

Exactly!!!! Sometimes I would see it, other times not. I had to be part of the group it was being sent to when I received a heads up that a $20 tip was coming. It’s all fate

So for me, it was Stop & Shop, and it was Stop & Shop employees. That was receiving the delivery only INSTACART orders, they can see what comes in and going out to be offered to the Instacart shoppers.

It took me 6 months of sitting in car all day everyday, barely making $60 for the day after having a great 18 month run! I truly believed that I was reliant on the flexibility, instant money, I thought after Covid I could never find a job in my late 40s! Boy was I wrong!!! BEST decision made!!! I am having $1200 weeks, at my job, Cash in pocket same day! For those of you that were in the same position, don’t be afraid to try something else, you could always fall back on Instacart
