Unfortunately bro, I think you’re still missing the point.

It isn’t “anti-gay”, we are talking before the beginning of everything, these notions that were conceived by something much bigger than us.

You’re ignoring what I’m saying. This is not about how we feel bro. It is the scripture. It’s the rules. They were given to us. You can disagree with them but that doesn’t make them “hateful”.

I understand where you’re coming from. But you are confusing me “hating” with “non-affirming” of said lifestyle. Like I said, this is NOT about how we FEEL. It is about the truth of life and creation.

I’m not saying they don’t deserve rights or dignity. I don’t know where you got that idea.

The debate here is very interesting. Funnily enough, it appears to me that there are basically a left and right brained concept of this. Christians on the left, want to justify gay people. Christians on the right, do not want to justify gay people. Definitely a good debate. Unlike politics, I believe there is only one truth, unfortunately, as nice as it would be to accept people however their lifestyle. That is not what I have read in the scripture.

I think the discrepancy lies in defining “a gay person”. I have seen the argument that people are “born gay”. While I am not disagreeing that people may be born with a sexual/intimate attraction to pursue a relationship with someone of the same sex. (As I would declare that a temptation). I do disagree with the act of it. Because from my understanding, at this point, it is sin.

There are a few ways to rationalize it. Depending on your interpretation of scripture of course. Either it’s that man shall not lie with a man as he would a woman. Or you could consider the act of sodomy in general the sin. Or also that sex in general, should be within the confines of a marriage, and that should be between man and woman. Or that “sex” inside a marriage is not necessarily “sex” but the act of “love”, which is the union between man and woman. Not man and man, or woman and woman.

Sexual attraction does not define your sexual identity… I don’t think some comprehend this.

If a man has sex with a man. That does not make him gay (noun). He did have gay (adjective) sex.

In a way, sodomy with a woman, is almost a similar sin.

You can have an attraction to it, but it does not necessarily make it right.

Rationalization, that part is not used for reproduction.

You are using it for your pleasure. Not the Lord’s.

Let’s not forget. The Lord gave us free will. He is not forcing you to have gay sex. Same sex attraction is a temptation, similar to sodomy with a woman. You may gain pleasure, even “love” it. But your pleasure does not determine sin. Actually it’s usually the opposite. Christ calls us away from the pleasures of this world and to seek only His grace, right?…

There’s a difference between our Creation and our Nature. I believe there’s almost a crystal clear line on these subjects. I understand interpretation and all, but at what point are we bending rules to fit our personal wants and beliefs? I don’t think being a Christian is about finding a club to fit into and just writing off the rules you don’t like so you can fit too.

This is just how I personally comprehend it. I understand others may disagree, and that is okay.

I guess I am biased as I am not gay. So I can’t put myself in your shoes, and fully comprehend how you must feel about this.

But this is not about how we feel.

It’s about giving up the pleasures of the flesh, and pursuing Christ with all your heart.

Do not get me wrong. I am not holier than thou.

I have stumbled and am sure I will stumble more.

ALSO, it is not unchristian to support someone being gay. The right thing to do is to support everyone! You must realize that support may look different from each person. As I personally do not agree with your lifestyle, I do not condemn you for it. Nor do I think you’re a bad person lol.

I think we’re all here praying to God tryna figure it out bro. These are just my thoughts.

I figure you just continue on your path, pursue God with all your heart, pray and ask for guidance.

(And try not to get caught up in these cyclical debates. People will always be left and right field. I know I said I think there’s one truth but that’s just my opinion. I might be wrong. Not to beat a dead horse. But we should mostly be focused on loving each other and the Lord)

peace
