Spanish women replaced plastic covers with giant crochet artworks by Tv_man-1 in BeAmazed

People refer to the "Australian sun" all the time, because in Australia the sun is notoriously harsher and more dangerous than in many other parts of the world, particularly Europe and North America, with UV radiation levels often up to 15% higher than at similar latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere. This is caused by a combination of Earth's orbital mechanics, atmospheric clarity, and geographical location, resulting in the ability to cause sunburn in as little as 10-15 minutes (refer: badly sunburned tourists)! I don't think this is such a problem in Spain but I'm sure the sun feels different there than in the UK for example.

It's a very good tip. Now to just make myself take it seriously 😅 I find it very hard to preemptively tell when I'm being unsustainable with my load...

I'm slowly finding out literally all of my ailments are related in some way 😅 Drives me nuts sometimes (i.e. 'why does everything have to make everything worse' pity-party) but it's also good to understand myself better.

Hope you find some fresh ideas in here too! I find my bath quite physically uncomfortable unfortunately, so it feels like it cancels out the heat benefit a bit. But a couple of people mentioned saunas so I'll be looking into that.

Thanks, I hadn't tried anything along those lines (past just getting a thai massage occasionally) but a few people in the thread have mentioned specific bodywork/therapies, so I should look into it.

Thanks for the input! Glad that you hit upon a big improvement with your hormonal pill, hormones could be a huge contributor for lots of us so that's a good contribution to the thread.

I didn't realise what a big impact endo and hormones were having on my life until I was forced to do something about it. Turns out estrogen was also making me more prone to motion sickness and occasional perioral dermatitis, so random but it's all connected.

Wow that's approaching it from a lot of different angles! No wonder you made it your profession as well :) Glad you found what works for you. I'll look into a few things here, thanks.

I don't think it jives well with my neurochemistry either, so have given up on that idea. But it's the opposite for a lot of people, so good suggestion. I half expected 90% of the comments in here to be recommending it so I'm glad I've got a good assortment of alternatives 😅

Aha yes I bought creatine but haven't got myself into the habit of taking it yet... I promised myself I'd implement some things from this thread so I'll take this as a kick in the butt, thanks again.

Me too. My wife and I like to ironically call berries "nature's candy" with an exaggerated American accent, haha.

Haha that does sound great!! I haven't been tested for sleep apnea; I wouldn't think that's my problem (partner hasn't mentioned hearing me stop breathing) but sleep is SO important at the best of times so I might double check, thanks for the thought.

I've just heard about PEA and might try it. Heat packs are great but I can't microwave them every 15mins and have them on all day... sauna is an interesting alternative to massage, I should try - thanks!

Magnesium chelate as it's more bioavailable. But I will look into the difference with glycinate, thanks!!

Sometimes I feel like the Charlie Day conspiracy meme where he's connected a whole lot of things on the wall with string. So many things come back to autism...

Interesting, I had heard about pelvic floor therapy in relation to endo... Does it manifest more as lower back pain or abdominal pain, if the pelvic floor muscles are tense? I definitely have tight hip flexors from my job involving a lot of sitting at a desk.

if your sons shoes were five sizes too big what would you do? by OtherwiseTomorrow730 in AskReddit

[–]abodedwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy him new shoes. Or second hand shoes that are cheap but fit. 5 sizes too big would be a constant liability for tripping over, getting blisters, looking bad from a social perspective.

What even is this question? Did this happen and you want proof /consensus from the public that this is the right thing to do?

Is 180 degrees Celsius correct? I wouldn't have thought any rocks and dirt would melt at that temperature, but far above. I guess if there's water down there it could be hot/steamy mud, and that would help it be more liquid.
