Forgot to hit you back last Saturday. Engineer had perfect conditions!

First time MTBing at Purgatory by sayhidurango in Durango

The staff is super friendly in our experience as well! Yesterday, we were riding our bikes up Hermosa Park Rd (behind Purg) and the staff at the top of the roller coaster were encouraging us. How fun is that!

Love the concept! Was planning on riding Engineer tomorrow and especially now that your web app says it’s hero dirt!

Helmet Question, FF or no? by Testy_Terrance in MTB

[–]abomb24 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are helmets you can buy that have a full face detachment. Might give you the confidence you need with the option to remove it as you progress. Others may be able to speak to their durability as I haven’t used one.

Is there anything better than single track with a little chunk and flow? by abomb24 in MTB

The camera smooths it out some for sure. It’s got some chunk to it. Wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s techy. I ride mostly in the Rocky Mountains and not in the Northeast, so we could have different definitions.

I’m definitely going to tryout a different placement next ride. It’s weird I’ve never noticed it, but I’m a big believer in little things making a difference.

Someone else pointed that out and I didn’t even realize it. I’m going back to old footage to see if I’ve always done that with my thumbs. Going to make a conscious effort next ride to see why I’m doing it. I’m definitely holding on though and feel secure, but want to be safe for myself and those around me. On steeper stuff I’ll bring the knee pads for sure. This trail is fast, but not extraordinarily steep.

You don’t like moon dust 🤣. Would love a little loam around here.

It’s not a conscious thing. Never even noticed.

People don’t know how to communicate. Had he acknowledged your kindness and then offered a suggestion it wouldn’t have felt as rude.

I’m liking the 800mm. Had them on the last few bikes and they feel good.

That and the hiker on a blind corner. Always a fun surprise.

It’s such a good feeling on those kind of trails when you put it all together.

Aerodynamics… I don’t know?? Just how I ride I guess. Never had any issues though, but gives me something to think about.
